  1. I get that feeling as well. I think he'd be a good utility man. But Dusty hated him, and it's possible they would let him walk. Any chance he gets traded rather than non-tendered?
  2. If you would have clicked my link provided earlier in the thread, you would know that is the article from which your headline is pulled. :P just me being lazy.
  3. I caught the end of a Bruce Levine report on ESPN1000 this morning and it sounded like he said the Cubs offered 4 years/38 million. If true, very reasonable.
  4. Wrong. Link Just posting what they had for an headline on the website: Cubs, Howry reach agreement.
  5. Hopefully Dusty will do his job and live up to his reputation as a player's manager.
  6. You can see the Reds' first base coach is wearing gray. The Cubs are definitely at home.
  7. a great and very surprising win.
  8. As we saw this past season, the Brewers are clearly an up and coming team. Their entire lineup is set with the exception of Fielder/Overbay at 1B. Personally, I think its a no-brainer, trade Overbay for very solid pitcher. The Brewers can and will contend either in '06 or '07.
  9. Didn't Sosa have a run-in with his wife and the police as well?
  10. 1. Kevin Orie 2. Bobby Hill 3. Dwight Smith 4. Juan Cruz 5. Mike Harkey 6. Frank Castillo 7. Damon Berryhill 8. Jeremi Gonzalez 9. Scott Chiasson 10. Bobby Brownlie 0
  11. The payroll should minimunally be set at $105 million with all the bleacher expansions and raising ticket prices.
  12. I'm betting Brian Anderson will be playing in the OF for the Sox.
  13. I'd like to see Hendry turning some of these young arms, who seemingly are out of 25 man roster spots, into offensive production. It seems the bullpen will really be an assett to this team, hopefully the offense can produce enough runs to have to hold a lead.
  14. Here's hoping Hendry is now setting his sights on improving RF and helping stabilize CF. I'm really hoping there's an expanded payroll with all this money being spent on the bullpen, but I get that feeling the Cubs will be going on the cheap to help their OF.
  15. I'm not familiar with his writing but there's one article he wrote that I was impressed with. He made a list of overrated players this summer. His number #1? Scott Podsednik.
  16. Let's hope we have to make that decision based upon those numbers.
  17. Back to the topic of the thread here's a report from msnbc.com about Wagner possibly signing with the Mets. Mets' Offer
  18. I think everybody wants a strong bullpen but with the assets being used on it this off season, it appears Hendry is putting that ahead of improving the offense which is a much more pressing issue.
  19. I don't have time to go through this entire thread to see if this has been posted already but here's our own Bruce Miles' take in today's Daily Herald. Cubs Might Pursue Howry
  20. Urlacher is having a fantastic season. I've been one to say he hasn't earned a lot of the hype/coverage that he's gotten in his career. He's blow that criticisim away with his play this season. He's clearly headed to another Pro Bowl and show be at the front of the Defensive Player of the Year Award discussion.
  21. Great, great win today for the Bears. I don't really care about the "we don't get any respect nonsense". I'm just glad this team came out and played its best game of the season against one of their toughest opponents.
