Not sure he starts in center (Bellinger) but I agree he needs to be in the one up.

I guess starting Cuas with the Reds expecting Greene in the game means they start a lot of left handed bats. If Smyly has any kind of chance he needs to face more left handed bats. Maybe they bring right handed bats off the bench and Ross brings in Wesnecki. The idea is fine, but Smyly sucks.

That is what I thought. But looks like Palencia. Can’t say I like that idea. But they do need to get innings from some off guys, I guess.

I’m not sure, but I believe there is a limit for pitchers you can have in the team. And I believe the Cubs are at that limit. If a pen arm with options is used to eat innings they can always send that guy down and bring up Boxberger or someone else. Maybe Kay goes 2 innings or something and then Cuas comes back from bereavement leave, as well.

Considering how bad the Cubs right handed bats are against lefties, Canario makes some sense. Maybe he gets a start against a lefty.

Basically if a player is in the system they can find a way to get him in the playoff roster. The system can be manipulated so that PCA (as an example, since so many are worried about him not being on the playoff roster) can take the place of an injured guy and be put on the playoff roster. Not a big deal to. It be in the 40 man as of September 1st.

More like 5 starts. But you are probably right. He has pitched well, however. Reds could have used him, for sure.

I doubt the Guardians are signing any of those guys. This is a month roll of the dice. Glad they did it. Didn’t want to see any of the teams right behind the Cubs add any pitching. Reds getting Bader sucks because he is always good against the cubs. But otherwise not too worried about who they got and no one else for anyone. interesting that Clevenger went unclaimed. Guess some team do value morals and character.

Lefties coming up and Lieter good lefties coming up. Move made sense. Didn’t work so he is criticized. .

My question has still not been answered. If a team claims a guy and gets him do they move the back of the list or can they claim as many dues as they want. Can Cincy claim Giolitto, Clevenger and Lopez all before they Cubs and if no one before them claimed any of those guys do they get them all?

So how does the waiver wire work? I know they go from worst record to best. But if someone like San Francisco picks someone up do they drop to the bottom of the waiver list. Or could they take as many players as they want at that spot and not drop to the back. I don’t see the Xubs getting any of these guys. Teams higher in the waiver wire have similar needs. Also, if they could get Clevenger would anyone want him? Before answering just know he has had a solid year. More an issue with his character.

Absolutely. Maybe even pitch the entire inning. Merryweather has sucked against the brewers. I think the plan is Lieter for 2 innings.

I bet he goes Monday. With the day off on Thursday I think they will give everyone an extra day. Wick and a minor league call up Friday. Assad Saturday and Tallion Sunday. I think that is why he let him go 112.

If people believe he is a 4th outfielder there is no sense worrying about their opinion anyway.

They really need 3 of 4 from the reds. Need to win the head to head against them in the event of a tie breaker.

That is fine, I guess. But still could have done Madrigal at 3rd and Candelario at 1st. Hope Wisdom proves us wrong, but I see no reason he should ever play.
