    Based on multiple fractures. And the fact they said “hope” to be back in the playoffs. They didn’t say WC round. Maybe if they win a couple of series he could be back in 2 weeks. But hoping for better than that is just wishful thinking IMO.

    I think if they face a lefty it will be Shaw. But maybe it will be Shaw and Pedro and Taylor, all in the line up🤷3rd, left and DH

    It absolutely sucks. Can’t believe the bad luck this team has had this year.

    In the playoffs. Not at the beginning of the playoffs. He isn’t going to play again this year.

    I haven’t see a prognosis yet. I would be surprised if he took an AB before Saturday. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he is done for the year, including the playoffs. You can’t hit what you can’t see. And that eye looks bad.

    Probably get more people at that game than the Rays normally get.

    This would make thjngs very interesting. They have to play those games. So where do they go? Stay at Wrigley and the Cubs bat first? Odd, but I doubt the Red Sox would care. They are the second WC team regardless.

    Couple of things here. First, why do the Dbacks have to sweep Colorado. They are 4 in back of the Phillies and have the tie breaker with them. If they win 2 of 3, and the Phillies lose 2 of 3 from the Brewers, at least the first game against SD matters. Next, why can’t Arizona seeep the Rockies, who are 32-46 at home? They aren’t exactly a juggernaut at home. Sure, Az pitchers may be wearing down, but Colorado has to pitch too. Sure, it may not happen. But I wouldn’t say I can’t see the Dbacks gaining one game in the next 3 is unrealistic considering they play Colorado and the Phillies play the Brewers. In fact, if they do sweep the Rockies there is a chance they could be 3 back of SD, who could easily lose 2 of 3 in LA. That is a bigger reach, however.

    And now they have the Dodgers in LA and Dbacks at home. Like to see Dbacks get to 2 or 3 behind Phillie so maybe they have something to play for. Phillies have Brewers and Rays. Brewers trying to beat out LA for best record so they should still play rough. Rays will get a 4 day rest at the end of the season, so I imagine they will play their guys too. Don’t want them sitting out too long. I believe the Dbacks have the tie break between them and the Phillies?

    Shouldn’t this be talked about in the bears forum? Cubs have their own injuries to worry about.

    I thought about this the other day. I would say if there is nothing to play for I wouldn’t mind them doing this. But I doubt they do. Basically, if any outfielder or the DH gets on first any inning you put PCA in to run. Then he takes over that spot in the line up. Give him a guaranteed one time on first. Hope he gets it at Wrigley. But aren’t the Marlins good at stopping the runnnng game?

    I don’t know. I think the swelling could cause a problem. I am sure they will do everything they can to bring it down, but that eye doesn’t look good. Hope you are right and it is him coming back for the last 3 games. If not, by the 29th.

    Not going to lie, don’t like seeing how swollen that eye is. That is worse than I hoped.

    I’m going to assume he meant done for the rest of the REGULAR season, at least. That is the only way the post makes sense. Pretty sure we know it isn’t career ending on going to keep him out the start of next year.

    I don’t expect any news until tomorrow or even Tuesday. Regardless of positive or negative I don’t thjnk theybsay anything for a bit.

    I want Az to win. I want them to be within 3 of the Phillies or SD when they play AD to finish the season. Hopefully they have something to play for.

    This, if true is probably as good as we can hope. If it isn’t a nose or an eye injury he might not be out long.

    Way to narrow down a time frame for the injury. 3 to 11 weeks really helps explain how long he will be out.

    They said hamstring. But that will still be something that keeps him out a bit. And Bagent didn’t look good.
