  1. Or, a guy they could have invited to camp after the draft. Poles sucks.
  2. Anytime a runner is thrown out at the plate a certain group of people will complain and call it a bad send. But both sends were absolutely was the correct call. Boog and JD touched on this the other day. Any 3rd base coach that never gets a guy thrown out at home is also most likely costing the team more runs by holding runners up than he is if he sent a few more. It’s all about percentages. I would guess on the first send if was a 70% chance of scoring. So send makes sense. If you hold him you have 1st and 3rd with one out. Does that equate to a 70% chance of scoring? Probably not. The second send was even a better chance of scoring. Probably 90%. Dodgers made two great throws and Pages made a great play getting to that ball and releasing so quickly. Again, absolutely the right call to send the runner.
  3. How do you in one sentence say you love the draft so far and the the next sentence say you question the 3rd round pick? They have other needs. Why a TE. Trrriblenpick. Don’t really like a center at 57 either. Feel they reached a bit on him.!f he was their 89th pick I would love him. But not at 57.
  4. Good trade. Terrible pick at 57.
  5. I like the pick, but I think I would have liked the trade right after that pick. I would have liked getting the 28, 68 and 168 for the 26, and 89 pick. If the Oregon safety was fine then take the safety from Roledo or a corner. I don’t think there is much difference between safeties.
  6. Really I rate all match ups similar. Sheenan has an era at almost 6. Sasaki isn’t great either. There best pitcher facing the Cubs, faces Shota. Hard to beat the Dodgers, especially in LA. But I feel the cubs have an equal chance in each game. No obvious pitching advantage.
  7. Is he better than Kingery? It is a low bar to be the 26th man. Maybe he clears it?🤷
  8. No, I’m not expecting a sweep. But your comment was kind of doom and gloom. We have to win game 2 and hope for another. As if the others weren’t possible. The pitching match ups aren’t bad. But that said, doesn’t mean I expect to win them all. Hard to “expect” a win in any match up. I just don’t think game 1 and 3 are any less likely than game 2.
  9. What makes Dodgers starter in game one so great? Why can’t the Cubs win that one. And then Shota faces Wrobleski on Sunday. Again, why is that advantage Dodgers?
  10. Right. It is a play we all expect him to make. But it wasn’t routine. He is fine in right. They need his bat and they aren’t sitting Ballestaros so someone else can play right and Seiya DH.
  11. This is a bit reactionary. He isn’t great in right, but he is going to play there.
  12. But he is someone who qualifies? Is he a good enough prospect to qualify? I thought he had to be top 50 or 100 in a few publications. But don’t know the publications and if he qualifies.
  13. I wouldn’t count the Mets as sellers just yet. They have a good team and can rebound from a terrible start. It will be hard and maybe they don’t rebound, but I wouldn’t say it is a good chance they sell.
  14. I’m not sure where to ask this and hope someone see it who can answer. If Mo get ROY do the Cubs get an extra draft pick next year? Does he qualify as a rookie prospect in enough publications? Also, does he have to be ROY or finish in top 3?
  15. So much good in this win. Seiya and Busch go deep. PCA and Bregman get 3 hits. Ben Beown looked great. Even Boyd wasn’t bad. How about the no name pen? Best win of the year to ease some fans concerns.
  16. Basically how I answered the question. If Murray isn’t a real prospect, why not him. Not sure he isn’t a prospect, however.
  17. My guess would be more likely it is serious.
  18. Kind of sucks that Webb couldn’t close it out. I know Theilbar only threw 6 pitches but he was up. 9th should have been easy. Can’t even really blame Webb.
  19. That is a strange mock. I don’t see that at all. There are a few edge rushers and an OT taken right after the Bears mock 60th pick. I would imagine any of those would make more sense than a receiver and another safety. TBH, I would like to see the Bears trade down on their first pick and gain more draft capital. There are guys listed into the high 30’s that, IMO, are the same guys the Bears are considering at 25. Trade down and they still might get an edge rusher or OT they are considering at 25. Then in rd 2 (pick 57 or 60)maybe that safety does make sense. With the extra pick they can probably get a WR or RB. 57 and 60 can be safely and either an edge or OT(depending on what they take with their eventual first pick.
  20. I said it before the 9th inning started, so this isn’t hindsight criticism. My thought was to bring Bregman in the game at 3rd in the 9th. Sure, you lose the DH, but who cares. They have a 4 run lead. Bregman helps protect that with better defense. Why keep Kingery at 3rd? I will bet if the same situation occurs, or if Swanson or Nico are the DH and for some reason Kingery is in the game (and Shaw has already been used) if they are protecting a 9th inning lead he will put the better fielder in the game in the 9th and forfeit the DH spot.
