    I wouldn’t have gone with Zeperjahn, but I guess Craig has to do that stuff. He has to find guys for the playoffs. He has to get them used to pressure situations. If it cost them a playoff, maybe it doesn’t matter. If he didn’t do this they would be ready for the playoffs anyway. Maybe if he used them and they succeed that leads to playoff success???🤷 he is kind of damned if he does and damned if he don’t, when things go bad.

    I get it. Just seems strange to me that it wouldn’t correct itself to take into account tie breakers. I mean different situation and there was only one spot available, if a combination of Cubs wins and Dbacks loses only totaled 12, the Cubs would win. I feel MLB should be able to figure that into the equation.

    When we are talking hitting war are they talking the war of the Cubs line up as a whole, which includes defense, or just offense? In other words, maybe Happ is 1.3WAR offensively but overall WAR of 2.3. When we see the Cubs line up total of 35+, what number are they giving Happ? His strictly offense WAR or his total?

    But the magic number wag if doing it is wrong. Hiw are you defending it? Even leaving out the second team, the most Arizona can win is 93 games. cubs have 82 AND WIN THE TIEBREAKER. so 93 wins is enough. You are arguing based on a flawed stat. To beat out Az they need 93 wins. Magic number is 11. And that doesn’t even count the fact that either Az or SD has to lose 1.2 or 3 more games. Which lowers the magic number.

    Can you think for yourself??? Come on chibear. Dbacks have 69 losses, so the most they can win is 93. Cubs have 82 wins. If they win 11 they have 93. So why wouldn’t the number be 11? Even if they didn’t play SD why wouldn’t it be 11? Cubs win tiebreaker.

    Normally yes, unless the cardinals were a threat to the Cubs. But earlier this season I bet the Sox to make the playoffs at 3-1 odds. So I am rooting for the white sox. And I have 2 Sox on my fantasy team. So go Sox. Score 15 runs tonight.

    Even using your way of thinking, which is wrong, one team can only win 93 games so the magic number would be 11. But in reality both teams cannot win more than 92 games. It isn’t possible. So the real magic number is 10. If the Cubs win 92 games, and the Cubs now have 82. they are in. So 10 is the magic number for anyone who has any idea of what they are talking about. I don’t care what MLB says it is.

    Wait, don’t forget he cried when USC lost. People are just idiots who love to hate for no reason. If he didn’t show emotion about losing then he would care enough. Let’s just be happy we have him. And he is a great QB and a damn good person.

    No. If Arizona wins out what is the most SD can win? They would lose 3 games. Cubs only have to beat one of those teams. SD would have 71 loses. If they go 2-1 in that series one team would have to lose 70 games. It is a mathematical certainty one of those teams will lose 70 games. So why isn’t the Cubs major number 10. That would give them 92 wins. They win the tiebreaker. And even with your scenerio if beating out SD didn’t exist(which it does), the Cubs don’t have to win more games then Arizona, they just have to tie them. So it isn’t 12, even with your explanation, which leaves out SD. If the Cubs win 92 games they can’t not be in the playoffs. Period! So if they have 82 wins then the magic number is 10.

    No it’s not. If Arizona wins every game that means they swept SD. So SD can’t win there games too. Both teams can’t win out and the Cubs only have to beat one of them. Before today it was 11.

    I wouldn’t bet against it😬 Let me ask you this; why would a bookie take those large bets from someone unless they knew he had a lot of money? I grew up knowing A LOT of bookies. Rule #1 was don’t let someone lose what they can’t pay. And if he bet through legal sites, they need the money in an account to take a bet. How did he have that money? I honestly don’t know if Ohtani bet or not. But I do believe if he did, MLB would do everything they could to keep it quiet. Just like the NBA did with Jordon.

    I respect Ohtani’s talent and do not hate him. However, he isn’t really easy to like. Not very friendly and a bit aloof. You can say maybe it is because he is from Japan and not comfortable with the culture. However he has been here long enough to at least show a personality, even if he isn’t that outgoing. And then there is the gambling thing with his translator. I’m not sure I believe he didn’t know about it, and possibly gambled himself but baseball isn’t letting that info out because of who he is and how much he means for the game. Again, I don’t hate him but he isn’t easy to like. I do admire his enormous talent, however.

    We don’t know anything. I said “I think”, which means that is my opinion. So yes, IMO, Caleb is or will be the type of QB a team wins games because of having him. Feel free to disagree, if that is your opinion.

    Even if the Cubs don’t make it, the Phillies can beat the Brewers and the Braves or SD can beat the Dodgers.

    Why wouldn’t your best case scenerio be neither make the NLCS? Why are people conceding it will be Brewers and Dodgers.
