  1. I guess I just don't get why we wouldn't want to when there's nothing else to spend on this offseason. I get that last season was supposedly two offseasons of spending, but then we won the World Series and collected all the additional revenue that comes with that. I remember seeing figures floating around here last year about marginal revenue per playoff game, but can't remember the number. Does anyone remember? I feel like it was significant.
  2. Weren't we told early in each of the past two offseasons not to expect much activity, only to end up with Lester, and then Heyward, Lackey & Zobrist? Or am I misremembering? I'd be surprised if we're not at least in on the premier closers. I'm going to be very surprised if we go with a question mark like Holland as the lead offseason bullpen acquisition. It just seems like you don't acknowledge the value of an elite closer by giving up a prospect like Torres in 2016, only to go into 2017 with a gaping hole at the back end of the pen. Especially when all it would cost to fill it is money.
  3. Man, Kang seems like a giant piece of horsefeathers.
  4. The latter, as I understand it.
  5. Man, you're more optimistic than I am on the current pen options. If Rondon really is broken and Monty goes to the rotation, I count two guys that I really feel comfortable with in high leverage situations.
  6. They cannot extend a QO to a player that has only been with the team for a partial season.
  7. I keep hearing people say this and I don't understand where it's coming from.
  8. It's taken me hours to get through all the threads here and all the articles on other sites, and I still can't get enough. What an amazing day.
  9. I cried like a baby. I don't think I'll sleep tonight. Lost most of the crew I was watching with during the rain delay, but hugging my brother after the final out is something I'll never forget. I love you all.
  10. Thank God for the emergence of Carl's Jr. and the Chapman trade. Rondon can't be counted on anymore.
  11. gonna be so fun whenever he joins the party.
  12. LaStella is not on the roster. yeah, but how do you know for sure he won't play? WSR isn't ruling it out.
  13. I can't believe we get to see this dude in the lineup tonight. This is nuts.
  14. I was too excited to sleep more than two hours last night. This day is going to feel eternal.
  15. Plus, judging by Brett Anderson's Twitter, he seems like a real [expletive].
  16. I'm still debating whether I'll be brave enough to head to Wrigleyville for any of the games. Realistically I doubt I'll end up wanting to go early enough to get into any of the bars. Anyone going to be out around Ukrainian Village/Wicker Park or any neighborhoods in that area?
  17. I enjoyed this: [tweet] [/tweet]
  18. I was watching the game at a party with mostly strangers. No tears then, just shock. Listening to Pat's call on the double play later definitely brought the tears.
  19. am I a lurker? I can never tell.
  20. Is this you not knowing who Seal Boy is or not knowing that LaStella isn't on the roster?
