The thought of trading Eloy for Sonny Gray makes me ill. The sickness likely would not be terminal. Gray's really good, but I can get why given the recent arm stuff. IIRC last I checked, I wrote a post and it fell through, he was throwing harder, getting more whiffs, more groundballs, and more popups. Ha. Yeah, it's almost entirely based on the recent health stuff. I was a big fan of his prior to that. I absolutely love Eloy, but I'm not against trading him for the right guy, as much as I'd hate to see him go. I just think, given the health concerns, the Cubs can and should aim a little higher. But there's a lot of folks on this board pining for Gray, so maybe I'm more concerned than I should be about the recent injuries.

man, being a bulls fan is so frustrating almost all of the time, but it's always nice to be able to look at the knicks and realize how much worse it could be. what a wreck. Yeah, I guess they are delusional they can still win with Melo. As Bulls fans would you trade Jimmy for Porzingis and swap first round picks this year (jump from 16 to 8)? If the Knicks really think they can win with Melo and need more help I think they'd go for that. that's tough. Jimmy's the better present-day player to me and he is under contract for an extra year. but Porzingis is so damn good already and is only 21, so he still has the potential to get so much better. it would at least signify that the bulls are ready to embrace the current style of NBA basketball. i don't know enough about this year's draft to place any kind of accurate value on those picks, but the bulls would probably horsefeathers the pick up and take a slow ass senior from iowa state or some horsefeathers either way so who cares i guess.

didn't theo & co. rate him much more highly than other teams because he aced the neuroscouting tests that they were just beginning to implement at the time? yeah i just found it https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/02/18/neuroscouting-may-give-red-sox-heads-prospects-potential/EFBHR3zNdThk1NboRpNMHL/story.html it was talked about in the Verducci book, too, actually. i wasn't sure how other teams felt about him, but i know he flew up the red sox list with those tests. the book also talks about how he had a stronger reputation as a bowler than a baseball player.

the length of time between the 2nd and 3rd picks was so hilariously long that i stopped following after that. gotta speed up the pace of draft.

yeah, especially in the middle of a 13 day stretch without an off day, i'm more than fine with them not pushing him, especially since there's at least some depth in the pen. -

What are some examples of this? Not doubting at all, but it's not something I know off the top and it's a tough thing to search. As far as early picks go, Ian Happ & Pierce Johnson both played a few seasons in the Cape Cod League. Hatch spent some time there in 2014 as well. -
