  1. I haven't played around with the prospect ranking feature yet, but yeah, I've had Contreras #1 and Eloy #2 since Eloy's HR tear at the beginning of June (I think that's when it was). Think my list looks something like this right now. 1. Contreras 2. Eloy 3. Happ 4. Torres 5. Almora 6. Cease 7. Edwards 8. Candelario 9. Caratini 10. Zagunis
  2. WC: Drop Park, add Corey Seager
  3. Incredible. This is shaping up to be an exciting class!
  4. as to the suggestion that our .982 OPS rookie catcher is an uncontrollable clubhouse monster to the point where he has caused an entire pitching staff to immediately implode due to his menacing presence? no, i don't think there's anything there.
  5. Are you referring to Gordo's tweet? He said no setback. I wouldn't read anything else into it. I just think taking a few extra days to rest instead of playing in an exhibition game is a smart move. That said, I was just thinking this morning, I'm not looking forward to a post-Dexter world next year. Love that dude, and I'm bummed we'll never get to see the full lineup featuring him, our all star infield, Contreras and Schwarbs. Oh yeah Heyward too I guess.
  6. Eh, if you have a chance to get Westbrook, worry about fit later. We'd only be looking at one more year of Wade at that point anyhow. That said, I'd guess Wade's got more pull for a guy like CP3 than Westbrook. When people on Twitter talked about his potential impact on free agency next offseason, CP3 is the guy that came to mind for me.
  7. I was hopeful. There were these long periods of time in the minors he'd go hitless and look lost. He's always seemed kinda streaky to me. I remember going back and forth with Rasin about his hitting. His glove has always been solid. He's certainly showed more power than I thought he would this year. I wish he'd take more walks but maybe he's never going to be an obp (although it's higher than I thought it was) guy. He's 26th in all of baseball in BB%. I'd say he's alright in that regard.
  8. Yeah, at a party this weekend, I had conversations with a few different people who say that Maddon has to: -figure out a set lineup and stick with it -stop giving his starters so much rest -stop moving players all over the diamond -cut it out with all the gimmicks (i.e. themed road trips and putting relievers in LF) also Pedro Strop should straighten his hat.
  9. this is awful. why is he getting a full inning in the booth?
  10. I'll take the under if only because these super teams that come together seem to take time to gel. The heat were around .500 around Xmas their first year and the Love/Lebron/Kyrie group were under .500 in mid January I believe. That and the potential for injuries make me feel more comfortable going under. I mostly agree that the under is a safe bet, but this situation seems a bit different in that the roster is much closer to a finished product than either the Heat or the Cavs were in year one. The Heat needed to round out the roster in future offseasons, and the Cavs made a few midseason trades to get the support their Big Three needed.
  11. I'd be pretty shocked if Wade leaves Miami. This feels like he's using the Bulls for leverage.
  12. not really interested in trading our 23 year old potential 40 dong masher for a relief pitcher with a history of elbow problems.
  13. Can anyone explain what happened? Is Hamilton dead?
  14. No Hendricks is boring and yeah, the top 30 talk gets annoying, but this team can't afford to give up young, healthy, cheap starting pitching with some major turnover coming for 2018. He and Lester are the only ones under contract after 2017. ---- I found Concepcion boring despite the results. If need be, we have the resources to acquire more starting pitching if need be. But I do agree that there's no reason to be actively shopping Hendricks. But if we're taking a part of a package for someone like Teharen or Fernandez (who I am very much aware that they are very different commodities,) then we could afford trade him. Trading away one of the two starting pitchers who is under team control past 2018, especially considering the state of the starting pitching situation in the minors, seems very unwise. Presumably, you're imagining giving up much more than Hendricks in a deal for either of those two pitchers, so you end up surrendering valuable assets without gaining anything in terms of long-term control. Hendricks may not be untouchable on the same level that other players in the organization are, but they should really avoid dealing him.

  16. lol...i love how much these things bother you which cardinals broadcaster would they even have on there? Just me being me, I can't change it but I guess I can stop bothering other people on here about it lol. I didn't recognize the name or the voice, he said he's been doing Cardinals games since 2006. Rooney went from White Sox to Cardinals around then, and would've been employed by ESPN 1000 before switching over. Might've been him?
  17. I take it you're saying regular season.
  18. I'm expecting extra days off will rejuvenate Miggy a bit. If that isn't the case and Contreras hits, then yeah totally different story. But I also wouldn't compare this to Schwarber's situation in that I don't expect Contreras to move around the diamond. They'll likely want to keep his focus on improving his catching skills.
