  2. Looks like it's a Bennett plus a 6th round pick for a 4th rounder.

  4. Jackson to the White Sox on a 1 year, $5 million deal.
  5. Petition to make Heyward's official nickname "Joey WAR Hands" Petition to change my username to Joey WAR Hands.
  6. That was my first thought as well.
  7. When did they have promise? When they lost to NF to start the season? Oh never mind it must have been when they barely beat Yale to get to .500. Again, they were down three starters in both those games. They have some talent, but no depth to overcome being down 3 starters. Of course the complexion of any team is going to change if 60% of the expected starting lineup is missing for nearly the entire season. Enough to go from "had some promise" to "train wreck." Of course Groce being in over his head plays a part as well, but there was certainly some talent to hope on, at least. Not that any of this matters in the least, just didn't get why that was such an outrageous claim.
  8. It's not like "had some promise" is some kind of over the top optimism. Before they lost three starters, they had a chance to be interesting. I don't get why that's controversial.
  9. He has them #15.
  10. Yeah, no big surprise considering how high he is on some of our prospects (EJM & Contreras come to mind), but still nice to see.
  11. Two shortstops is too many?

  13. This is pretty silly, but I just stumbled on this on Facebook and it made me laugh so I thought I'd share it: I took Broadcast Journalism at U of I with the host of the video. He was a really good dude and now his job basically seems like doing fun stuff like this with athletes and celebrities, so good for him.
  14. Pretty sure Buehrle, Burnett, & Harang are all retiring.
  15. I hate how so many people just have no clue what constitutes a quality ace/#2/#3/etc. There were 14 pitchers in all of baseball last year that threw 200 innings and had 200 strikeouts. Outside of James Shields, every one of them had a WAR over 4, and outside of Shields and Hamels, every one had a WAR of at least 5. There is no way anyone should be expecting Shark to put up those numbers, but if he does, then he's either not our #3 for 2016, or he's the best #3 in a long time. He did it in 2013 & 2014. He would have done it in 2012 as well if he hadn't been on an innings limit where he was shut down after September 8.
  16. Illinois is down double digits to Chicago State. It's going to be a long year.
