  1. Carlos Beltran?
  2. BA gives Tomas a 70 grade on the 20-80 scale and Despaigne an 80, but Despaigne is going to Japan, so he doesn't matter to us. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/power-hitting-yasmani-tomas-leaves-cuba/ http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/alfredo-despaigne-play-japan/
  3. Tomas is 6-1, 230. Both have lots of power, but Despaigne is the shorter of the two (5-8, 215).
  4. Eh, Rizzo's been coming out of his slump lately. He's been really good the last 7 games or so. This performance from Baez was fully expected, so I'm not worried yet. Alcantara has definitely looked bad for a while now. Castro deserves to be celebrated.

  6. By a guy who glorifies the 80's.
  7. How many were still playing in 84? What? I don't know? Who cares? My point is that your argument is bad because I could pick any year between 1947 and 1997 and find a slew of players from the list because we're talking 50 guys (whose careers probably average 12-18 years) over a 50 year span. Every year is going to be well represented. I wasn't trying to make a point. Just asking a [expletive] question. Calm the hell down. Without going through all the names again, I'd guess only Kareem and Malone.

  9. Although most of Miller's best years were behind him when the original list came out. He probably doesn't cut it.
  10. Why? Who wasn't eligible for the list that would be on it if you took it to current? LeBron? Duncan? Kobe? Reggie Miller? Who else? James, Duncan, Garnett, Nash, Nowitzki, Bryant, Iverson, Paul, Kidd, Payton, Wade, Pierce, Miller would all at least get some consideration.
  11. I just picked 1974-75 at random and found that there were 17 players from the top 50 in the league at the time. Looks like about 4-5 missed the cut because they retired after 1973-74.
  12. The NBA is currently the least talented it's ever been. There are 0(!!) players from the 50 greatest players ever list playing today. LeBron can't even crack it and he's supposed to be the king or something. What a watered down talent pool.
  13. I think it's adequate to gauge The level of appreciation for pippens game in his era. Oh sure. I was referring to the post above mine that seems to use that list as an argument as to why the 80's was the greatest era ever.
  14. By now, we should probably stop referencing the 50 greatest players ever list that came out in 1997.
  15. Looks like no trade. Hopefully we can get those guys through waivers and deal them in August Jogging back to hug people?
  16. Wow, so what is Boston's rotation going to look like the rest of the year? Buchholz-Workman-Barnes-Renaudo-De La Rosa? That's kind of fun.
  17. They're going to burn through every single pitcher and Jaxon is going to get the nod again tomorrow night.
  18. Hometown-related. I'm not much for clever usernames. Ahh, that should have been obvious. Apparently EPatt was still wearing #3 when you registered anyway.
  19. I had NES and then Sega Genesis. Did Atari predate NES & Sega, or was that out around the same time? I feel like that was the first system I had. And this game was the [expletive]:
  20. Guilty. I love this place. Haha, is this an EPatt-related username?
