  1. Lackey not getting the outside pitches Moore is. Swell.
  2. This has been the longest day ever. How is it only 3:30?
  3. RIP Fred. I don't post quite as often as many of you, and I can't say if I ever directly interacted with Fred on this board. That said, I've been hanging around this place since the beginning, and I always enjoyed reading his "useless stats." It seemed like anytime someone wondered aloud in a game thread "when is the last time X happened," Fred's reply was nearly instantaneous. His absence this year has definitely been felt. He was such a warm (and constant) presence in this community. It was apparent just from reading his posts what a kind and unique individual he was, but everyone's stories of their encounters with him really drive that point home. There's very few people in the world like that. It's not right that he isn't going to be here in October, posting his useless facts and dropping the hammer on Cardinal fan trolls. Condolences to CubManPi and all of Fred's family, as well as all of you here that were fortunate enough to meet him. Go CUBS !!
  4. The only end point that makes statistical sense is from when Rondon fan changed his name. i was way too lazy to figure out when that happened.
  5. heyward now hitting .308/.321/.423 in 53 PAs since his extended breather. would like to see that obp tick up a bit, but i'll take it.
  6. that's one of the more egregious strike calls i've seen.
  7. Rogers on Twitter made it sound like it's not a big concern. Said he's just a little sore after taking that foul ball of the knee yesterday.
  8. Coomer only seems remotely solid to me when Pat is basically propping him up by spoon feeding him things to say. Agree the rapport is good between the two, but the value that brings is canceled out almost entirely by the fact that Coomer adds a 'y' to the end of everyone's names.

  10. Chapman is a piece of human garbage. Anything less than perfection from that shitbag is unacceptable.
  11. Yeah, zero interest in Shelby Miller.
  12. His point was that you seemed extremely excited about finding out she was Wade's wife, as if you were very familiar with her. So, if you are very familiar with Gabrielle Union, and you are also a huge sports fan, it would seem odd that you wouldn't know they were married. He wasn't implying that "people" should all know this. So what do think the next step should be here. Maybe send them a belated wedding gift with a note of apology?
  13. This is really good stuff.
  14. I'll be in the bleachers. First time seeing Jake pitch. I hope I get to witness the return of God Mode Jake.
  15. He was really the only other guy I considered. Injuries caught up to him a lot earlier in his career, so that tipped the scales for Peanut for me.
  16. Yeah, he's pretty easily my all-time favorite Bear. Very good player and a big playmaker, great guy off the field based on everything we know, longevity in a Bears uniform, avoided injury throughout his prime, key member of the NFC champion team as well as a few other playoff teams. Not really sure who would even be 2nd for me.
  17. They really ought to be a tournament team if any of Abrams, Lucas, or Tate(ha) can be a competent PG. I have to think they will be, so long as they can avoid the injury bug that destroyed them last year as well as all the off-court awfulness. I'm guessing Abrams will be the primary guy at point, but I know next to nothing about Lucas. Abrams, at the very least, is a steady presence, like you said. My only fear is, in the past, he sometimes tried to shoulder more of the load on offense than he should have. Although, when he was last on the court, that may have been by necessity. If he gels with Hill and JCL offensively, I'm very confident that Illinois is a tourney team.
  18. Oh shoot I forgot about EJM. He'd probably be ahead of Caratini and Zagunis for me.
