  1. Not only that, but more than a couple of his INTs from last year were due to blown receiver routes and general inability by the receivers to make a play on the ball. It's no coincidence that when Aromashodu (the tallest receiver of the bunch) started making plays, Cutler's numbers improved.
  2. This is probably a stupid question but I don't feel like looking it up: Do we get anything in return if/when Lee walks at the end of the year?
  3. Its called an off day, and does it really matter? The season is over anyway I don't stop rooting for my team just because their playoff chances are slim to none. And I'm all for off days for players, just not everyone at once while trying to win a series.
  4. So glad Nady is playing instead of Byrd or Soriano.
  5. No excuse for this type of lineup when trying to win a series. LOL at 5-8...Nady, Fukudome, Baker, Hill. Go away Lou.
  6. I'm pretty sure Chris Johnson has yet to make an out against us this year.
  7. Trade Lilly and put Z back into the rotation. Please.
  8. Yeah I'm not that close to being sold on Lake yet. I understand his ceiling might be higher than Castro's, but I'm still very confident Castro will end up having the better career. Good for Lake though. Like someone else said, this system is stacked with middle infielders.
  9. What Archer is doing is incredible, and to think all we had to give up for him and two other players was a utility player. Let's hope this is nature's way of evening out the Indians receiving a future all-star in Santana for Casey Blake.
  10. This is a good post. It basically just proves that people dislike players more for their threat to their favorite team's success rather than for who they actually are. If Favre came to the Bears after these past 3 years of drama I probably wouldn't accept him, but if it had been before that I probably would have, as it was a different type of disliking back then for me. I say let him come back though. He will have a hard time topping last season and if he had a 2005-2006 type of season it would be worth it for Bears/Packers fans. And the Bears have a good chance at a WC this year if this defense can stay healthy.
  11. Marmol was only hitting 92-93 on his fastball that inning. :-k
  12. I will never understand grooving a strike on an 0-2 count. I've seen it happen more than once from our pitchers over the last couple days.
  13. Considering this game carries with it a 2-game swing in the standings, it could very well determine whether or not the Cubs become sellers. They should become sellers either way, but I know the front office might not feel that way. That said, get the sweep and worry about the rest tomorrow.
  14. I see it like this: Best-case scenario-Hanley Ramirez. More likely scenario-Rafael Furcal. Worst-case scenario-Orlando Cabrera. Can't really go wrong with either of the first two. With his skill set, I think Jeter is a better best-case scenario Probably, but I keep thinking about how Hanley's power pretty much came out of nowhere. It's very unlikely but it could happen. I don't think Castro will ever have Hanley's stolen base capabilities though.

  16. Seems like this team's only clutch hits are home runs, which is why we've been horrible with the wind blowing in this year.
  17. This whole thing with Theriot is indeed getting out of hand. Fontenot has had exactly 8 ABs since July 4th. Theriot's OPS is .617. :banghead:
  18. Bowman at only 74 overall for Madden is a joke. Hester should at least be in the low 80s as well. Everything else looks pretty good.
  19. And just like that Aramis Ramirez has a .721 OPS.
  20. Castro back up to a .767 OPS after bottoming out at .651 on June 24th. :D
  21. I hate when teams do just enough to keep me interested.
  22. I would gladly forget about yesterday if we can beat Roy Halladay.
  23. Is there a pitcher in baseball that owns us more than Cole Hamels?
