Technically It would more go Ray, Godley, Walker, Greinke, Ray. I literally remembered the play-in game 2 horsefeathering seconds after I hit submit but with all this horsefeathering deadline site traffic it took me 10 minutes to edit my horsefeathering post. horsefeathers!

The consensus at Brewerfan.net is mostly satisfaction that they've forced the Cubs into making another "desperate" move and trading away another Top 5 prospect. Someone should remind them of the following: 1. Candelario kinda sucks. Don't be fooled by his prospect status. 2. We have plenty of time to restock the farm by the time this major league team has run its course. 3. We're not making these moves to beat the Brewers, but to better compete with the Nats and Dodgerses of the world. I'd expect the same moves if we were currently 10 games up.

I'm not as high on Wilson as some here are but given that we gave up no one of consequence, I'm happy with it. I'm thinking we'll see some Willy in LF down the stretch.

Sorry I'm a little late for this one, I took a high fastball off the dome. Cutty is actually winning games for Chicago, guys. Now he'll try to do something else he could never do: Beat the team from Wisconsin. For the record, I credit the "1st Place Cubs" thread title for getting Schwarber going last night. Now add "Vaunted" to the title and the possibilities are endless. Going for the Cubs will be their newest acquisition, who's probably very glad he got the hell out of the South Side, Jose Quintana: While taking the mound for the 2nd place Brew Crew will be lefty Brent Suter, who's had a decent enough start to his career. I apologize that such a punchable face GIF was all I could find: There will be dongs.

Well guys, we now find ourselves alone atop the NL Central. Let's never look back. We also have the chance to win our first Crosstown Cup since 2013. I hope they allow me to spend 4 figures on celebratory gear like I did for the last thing they won, whatever that was. Starting for the Cubs in this one will be their ace: Jon "How about this sh1t?" Lester. Jon has been very good in two starts since that dreadful Sunday before the ASB. Here he is with the GPA. He'll be facing off against Mike Pelfrey, an average veteran who is having an average season. His mouth is also pretty average. There will be dongs.
