  1. It was a strike, but you have to do a better job of framing than that. I think his glove hit the dirt.
  2. I know why Hendricks is good but there's still a part of me that really can't believe he's this good.
  3. Tomlin has bigger reverse splits than Bauer did, so I'm fine with Soler in RF. Not a great OF defense tonight with the crazy winds, but if Hendricks does what Hendrick does we won't have to worry about it.
  4. Now I can blame Fox for bad things happening to both of my teams.
  5. Wait, we get to face 36-dong Tomlin with the wind gusting out Friday? Jesus H.
  6. Intellicast is calling for a 22% chance of rain at gametime, increasing to 31% at 8 ET, 43% at 9 ET, and 49% at 10 ET. They'll probably have to play through some of it, but I think they get it in. Then again, this site seems to be a little more optimistic than others.
  7. Adam Schefter says it's most likely not happening.
  8. Holy horsefeathers this is really happening. What were we talking about again? I love all you guys, let's do this!!
  9. Almost as meatbally as saying that a hard-working, A+ personality player should be exempt from all performance-related criticisms. No but seriously, all I [expletive] wanted to know was why he's treated differently than the other two. You guys seemingly equated me saying that he should be held accountable with the idea that I hate this player on and off the field. Way to take one thing I said and blow it completely out of proportion. I tried to say my peace and move on, but it wasn't allowed. Reading comprehension, folks. You literally used the words "no reason to escape vitriol". Maybe you you should know what a word means before criticizing others reading comprehension. Vitriol - speech, writing, etc, displaying rancour, vituperation, or bitterness. Not reasonable accountability or criticism, etc. No reason to escape the vitriol that Cutler and Soriano faced, is what I said. Why are they different? FWIW, I think neither Soriano nor Cutler deserved the level of criticism they received. But WHY did they get it and Heyward seemingly gets a pass? If it's because of the World Series, then I can live with that reason. Anyway, this is my last reply on the subject. There's kind of an important game tonight.
  10. There's no valid reason to direct any vitriol at a player simply for underperformance. Especially a hard working, A+ personality like Jason Heyward. It's preposterously childish, meatball behavior. Almost as meatbally as saying that a hard-working, A+ personality player should be exempt from all performance-related criticisms. No but seriously, all I horsefeathering wanted to know was why he's treated differently than the other two. You guys seemingly equated me saying that he should be held accountable with the idea that I hate this player on and off the field. Way to take one thing I said and blow it completely out of proportion. I tried to say my peace and move on, but it wasn't allowed. Reading comprehension, folks.
  11. Just wanted to know why the media/fan perception was so different on Heyward vs the other two guys. I'm going with "World Series". Fair enough. Didn't mean for this to blow up right before the game, and even though I stand by my position, I do apologize. GO CUBS!!!
  12. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=847&position=2B/OF Scroll all the way down to the section titled "value" What am I missing? Soriano had a 6.7 fWAR in his first season with the Cubs, Heyward 1.6... Btw I don't know how this got to me defending Soriano, as I never said he didn't deserve his criticism. Just that Heyward deserves the same.
  13. I'm just glad Heyward is finally starting to be held accountable. The Cubs magical run has softened the blow to this point, no doubt. But there's still no reason at all for him to escape the vitriol that Soriano and Cutler endured in this city for underperforming on a ridiculous horsefeathering contract.
