  1. On what grounds? He's not doing anything against the rules, and as long as someone is willing to sign him on his terms he can get away with it.
  2. No, he was called up to be the starting 3B. He started today and got his first major league hit.
  3. I jumped on the Hamilton bandwagon too late to get him in this league, but he's in my starting lineup in another league.
  4. And the second Yankees hitter of the day took care of that possibility.
  5. The Royals' Ryan Braun was in the majors earlier this year, while the Brewers' namesake has not yet been in the majors. Yahoo usually doesn't add players until they've been called up.
  6. I don't remember the specifics of that streak. What I do remember is that, just when it looked like Dusty was going to be canned during the season, he temporarily saved his job with a stretch of good baseball.
  7. A few years ago House was the Pirates' catcher of the future but had a major injury (I don't recall if it was elbow or something else). Maybe that's who he was thinking of.
  8. I lead by slightly over 25, and have one start remaining to Buddiga's none. Barring a no-no by Washburn I probably won't have a third consecutive 300+ point week, but I should win. If current trends hold up, there will likely be a four-way tie at 3-2 for second place in the East (Hand Sanitizers, Raw Dawgs, Buddiga, and myself). Harrys Budcrew looks like they'll be alone at 5-0, but that WILL change next week. :D
  9. Try 9 at-bats this week (dating back to last Sunday).
  10. It doesn't sound like Floyd's going on the DL. Instead, as mentioned in another thread, Cedeno has been reportedly sent to Iowa.
  11. *cough* Wade Miller *cough*
  12. I picked him up as a free agent in one of my Yahoo leagues. Somebody else beat me to him in my other Yahoo league, and he was already taken as a minor leaguer in my Sportsline keeper league.
  13. He's putting things together now. A fairly good start last time and a great start tonight. I think he's making the adjustment to AA.
  14. If you're interested in trading Papelbon or Nathan I'm all ears. Otherwise I think it's time for me to quit while I'm behind. :D Really, my team has done quite well with only one real good closer anyway. I've thrown away two young pitchers; my supply isn't limitless.
  15. This team is better than mediocre. I definitely believe it is. Their record, however, is mediocre (for now).
  16. They have to make a roster move tomorrow anyway to bring Guzman back up, so maybe Floyd to the DL will be it.
  17. LMAO! You're just pissed because of your over abundance of closers now in RK... haha! Agreed though, Myers should be in the rotation. Maybe Myers will be the next closer for him to trade to me right before getting injured or replaced.
  18. I've come to the conclusion that, as good of luck as I've otherwise had with my team this year, I'm the kiss of death for closers. Ryan goes on the DL. I then trade for Wickman, who himself goes on the DL less than a week later. I then trade for Frasor, who may be replaced as Toronto's closer. Good thing for the Cubs I don't have Dempster on my team (he was on my team last year, and we all know how he did).
  19. Yep; mediocre>>>>>>>>>>putrid.
  20. I have another 3b in my line up at utility by the name of BJ Upton. If Rolen doesn't get his head out of his ass soon, someone else will be hitting utility while Upton plays 3rd. I also have Upton at utility in the league where I have Rolen. Upton is also eligible at 2B in that league, but I have Cano there. So basically I have Cabrera, Upton, Cano, and Rolen for three positions, and Rolen is odd man out. The only times I've used him is when Cabrera's or Upton's teams are off (that's a daily change league).
  21. SOME of us had confidence in Gonzalez from the beginning. :D
  22. I said other. Specifically, the fact that several of the pitching prospects (not just Hill) got an extended taste of the majors. Even though Hill is the only one to produce at the major league level so far, I think the experience will help Guzman, Marshall, and Marmol in the long run as well.
  23. I have Rolen in another league and he's been on my bench practically all year (I have another 3B by the name of Cabrera on the same team :D ).
  24. needs to get his act together. Physician, heal thyself.
