  1. Or $48.29 from deepdiscount.com.
  2. Jones for a shortstop prospect, plus the Angels picking up most of Jones' salary. Sign me up. :D
  3. Novoa released Wood to 60 day DL Buck Coats Dopirak Wood to the 60-day DL is the most obvious choice here. So much so, I'd say it's practically the ONLY choice that makes any sense. Had Prior been on the major (as opposed to minor) league DL then transferring him to the 60-day would have been a no-brainer.
  4. I saw Cabrera and Willis play for Carolina in 2003 when they hosted West Tenn. I believe former Cub farmhand Ryan Jorgensen (who was traded to Florida along with Willis in the Clement/Alfonseca trade) was also playing for Carolina at the same time.
  5. I doubt it too. Izturis is Hendry's pet. Just as Neifi was Baker's pet and Augie was Baylor's pet.
  6. Wuertz isn't going anywhere. He's had a very good year so far other than last night. I could see placing Eyre on the DL with a phantom injury to make room for another reliever to be called up.

    Week 7

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you won't have a cake walk this week. Statistics would say that I should beat you by about 15 points. For the season you're 95 points behind me, which averages out to about 15 a week. Week by week, though, I've outscored you three weeks and you've outscored me three weeks. Should be fun... There is NO way I should be 1-5... I'm thinking 3-3 would be reasonable. Not the best start to the week for either of us. Negative points from Moyer for me; even more negative points from Turnbow for you. You lead by 3.25 points and have one more pitching start remaining than I do.
  8. I was watching the Cubs game on ESPN tonight (waste of time I'll never get back), and the announcers there seemed to think the opposite, that Z would likely re-sign with the Cubs.

    Week 7

Matchups: Galesburg Hand Sanitizers (4-2) at Draconian Empire (1-5) Raw Dawgs (4-2) at Voo Doo Bayou Bashers (2-4) Harrys Budcrew (5-1) at Buddiga (3-3) NC Cubs (4-2) at Urinal Cakes (1-5) Alamo Stealth (4-2) at Quakers (4-2) Lynx (1-5) at Northside Baseball (2-4) Fuzzy Logistics (4-2) at Dishman's Dishmans (3-3) Severe Tooterstorms (3-3) at The Eyes of Texas (3-3) Based on current records, it looks like mismatches in the East and close matches in the West. Hopefully Buddiga can get back on track and drop Harrys Budcrew into a tie for first.
  11. Thanks! You can show your thanks by rolling over and playing dead for me when we have our rematch.
  12. I currently have a 44-point lead, which I feel confident is enough to allow for overnight deductions and still maintain the lead. No more undefeated teams in the league. :D
  13. I was thinking that was still when he was with Toronto, but I'm not positive about that.
  14. Translation: Don't expect him back anytime soon. :(
  15. At least one of them (Soriano getting thrown out) wasn't Quade's fault. It wasn't Quade that was loafing home standing up.
  16. Barfield is good... at what? At living up to the first four letters of his last name. :D
  17. Want Biggio? The problem here is that I obviously need offense more than pitching. Howevre, I do have a pair of 2B. Feel free to offer me a closer for him. Trade for a closer from abuck and he'll either be injured or replaced as a closer within a week. :D
  18. I hate to use my second and last pre All-Star break move this early, but with Howard struggling anyway and now on the DL time to cut him loose. Welcome to my team, A-Rod.
  19. Does it look to you like Lilly, Marquis, and Hill have an incompetent pitching coach? Because they have the same pitching coach Zambrano has. Yes If the seasons Hill, Lilly, and Marquis are having this year are due to an "incompetent" pitching coach, give me incompetence or give me death. :D (In other words, your statement makes absolutely no sense to me.) Rothschild has been the pitching coach for almost the entire time of Z and Prior's career. He was also the pitching coach for a good portion of Wood's career. Z, Prior, and Wood (to a lesser extent) has been exposed to a terrible amount of abuse under Larry's watch. Larry hasn't done much to improve any pitcher in my estimation. Hill was doing just fine before he came to the big leagues. Lilly and Marquis have pitched a handfull of games for the Cubs. Lilly was a decent pitcher before comming to Chicago. Marquis was pretty good for the first part of last season too. We'll see how things shake out. Yes we will. However, if frequent reports that Dusty completely ignored Rothschild's advice are true then what's happened in the past is more likely Dusty's fault than Larry's.If your boss ignored your advice and made you look bad would you continue to work for him?Maybe he'd received some assurances from Hendry that he'd outlast Dusty.
  20. Maybe that's because you're spending too much time posting here and not enough time practicing.
  21. I want to know why the hell Piniella left Howry in for so long. If he took him out before the home run, when the Phillies had only taken a two run lead, the game would have still been within reach. This loss is inexcusable, coming back from four runs down to take a two run lead, then giving it right back. You simply cannot leave a reliever in long enough for him to give up six runs in a single inning, period.
  22. Why would anyone think this guy would be an expert in pitching anyway? :D
