    Week 8

The Cardinals made one of my roster decisions for me by sending Reyes and his 0-8 record to AAA. Now I'll only need to drop one to make room for my pitchers returning from the DL.
  2. The rest of the East is hoping so. :D
  3. You shouldn't have to. If you're logged in it will show your score on the first page. It shows the top scores, then you and those around you, and finally the bottom scores. I've dropped to #124, with 196 ESPN. Please come back, Jeff Weaver; I need your suckiness.
  4. I'm on board. Using Eyre as he did today is unforgiveable. Eyre has proven all year long that he stinks; there is absolutely zero excuse for Lou using Eyre with a one-run lead.
  5. And once again Eyre screws his team out of a victory. I put major blame on Lou for this loss as well since he should know better than to use Eyre when the game is on the line by now. Bye bye Eyre; you won't be missed.

    Week 8

My team's back on track big time this week. I have a 105 point lead, with one pitching start remaining (Washburn) to none for my opponent. I have a reasonable chance at a 300-point week.
  7. that was Grady Little not Dusty I thought it was Hendry.
  8. Jose Guzman was the other pitcher signed to replace Maddux.
  9. And that record is 64 doubles.
  10. Yes. I remember that from last year when Ball State got an automatic bid for winning the MAC tournament.
  11. I was at the Smokies games on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Schappert pitched Wednesday night and really stunk. He pitched one scoreless inning, but the next inning he pitched to five batters without getting even one of them out, and all five scored (although some of them scored after he was taken out). So he was charged with 3 hits, 3 walks, and 5 earned runs in 1 inning.
  12. I had forgotten that he had a start after his relief outing before today. I was on the road that day, so I wasn't really following the action.
  13. Actually, I think this is his first bad start in awhile. His last outing he pitched in relief when his normal turn in the rotation was given to Wade Miller for a rehab start.
  14. that offer would be met with such great amounts of laughter than Cashman may have an anyeurism That might actually make Steinbrenner's life easier, since reportedly Cashman's job is in jeopardy anyway. :D
  15. No, that's not how it works. They blamed Marshall for the loss, so they traded Guzman for Figgins. :D

    Week 8

If anybody is looking for pitching depth, I have excess starting pitching now with El Duque having returned (in a big way; shame on me for not having the confidence to put him in my lineup first start back) and Jennings returning next week. I'd be willing to trade any of my starters not named Webb for draft picks and/or minor league prospects. I'd also package a pitcher with a position player for a better player at that position.

    Week 8

That's actually better than my pitching last week, which was negative for the week.
  18. Last year I would have done it in a heartbeat. This year I wouldn't trade either Gonzalez or Fielder for Zambrano. Even though they both play 1B, one of them can be used at U. And I'm getting less optimistic by the start that Zambrano will turn it around this year.
  19. Eyre without question. Howry has been sporadically putrid; Eyre has been consistently putrid.
  20. I think it would still be effective. He agreed to one trade; I don't think that would void the clause for the remainder of the contract.
  21. You've been playing a lot of outfield as well as catching this year. Have the Cubs given you much feel for where they see you playing long-term?
  22. Have you noticed any differences in organizational philosophy between the Tigers and Cubs organizations? If so, what are the biggest differences?
  23. I was at the Smokies game again tonight, and they got smoked, 8-2. Two innings really did them in, giving up 4 runs in the 3rd (off Hart) and 3 in the 9th (off Mendez). Fox caught tonight and allowed a stolen base and also had a throwing error. I also think he could have stopped one of the wild pitches charged to Mendez. On the plus side, he did hit a home run, one of the few offensive highlights. Salas continued his hot hitting, going 2 for 3 today after going 4 for 4 yesterday. Cates was the only other hitter to get 2 hits. Fuld, Fox, McGehee, Craig, and Simokaitis each had 1 hit.
  24. When you tell someone they're pulling something out of their ass, yes. You can simply say that you disagree with someone and then make your case for why you think they're wrong without resorting to insults.
  25. Didn't Tim warn you to cut out the condescending tone just within the past day or so?
