  2. They'll probably win more football games than basketball this year.
  3. IMB! is a Meph-in-training. :D
  4. Geography battle for the league championship: CT vs. NC. CT is going down big-time.
  5. You still have a chance in our matchup as well, if Burress has a big game. Other than him we both have our kickers remaining. I know it! Both matchups too close to call this week - ack. The tough part is that, if Burress has a big game, that's good in the Yahoo league, but am actually playing against him in the other league. I'll be thrilled if I manage to pull out one win this week. I'm in a somewhat similar situation. I'm in another Yahoo league where Eli is my QB. So anything Burress does helps me in that league but hurts me in our matchup. Since I lost last week in the first round of the other league and am in the consolation bracket I'm more interested in our matchup.

  7. Time to lock this poll; continued voting makes no sense.
  8. Upon further review, the horrid weather in Cleveland made it virtually impossible for Anderson to put up any production today. Fortunately my opponent's starting QB is Romo, who was even worse (no TDs and 3 INTs with just over 2 minutes remaining).
  9. Gonna have to be a little more specific than that. This thread has been all over the place. I THINK he's saying non-tendering Prior was lame, but I'm not sure.
  10. It was a joke. The Dodgers signed Koroda, so they must not be interested in Kuroda anymore.
  11. This thread should be renamed the Energizer Battery thread. It keeps on going, and going, and going..... http://www.energizer.com/_layouts/Energizer/images/backend/common/footer_keep_going.jpg
  12. I doubt the casual poster knows what MPC stands for If the casual poster doesn't look at his signature you may be right.
  13. your right IMB, it is lame. I should mold my personallity after the greatest poster of all time, you, because you never have had a post that was anything but respectful and enlightened, and you never get old to other posters. IMB for sainthood! But to get back to my question, and it is a serious question, isnt Soccer's post an arguement against the idea of a choke artist? imb's not the greatest poster of all time. meph is. I believe that Vance won the tourney here, fella. Yeah, but I got named in the Mitchell report for using posting enhancing drugs... 8-[ It was Derwood who reported you. He figured the only way he could have lost in the first round was if everyone else was on PED.
  14. Leadoff hitter is up there too. Leadoff hitter isn't a position. I agree with you that it's overrated, though (especially since he may actually lead off an inning only once in the game). Psst...Neither is closer, hence the quotes. Good point.
  15. Pass. If Pie is to be traded it MUST be for a player that actually fills a need, which closer isn't.
  16. This may be my favorite quote, but there are a lot of good ones.

  18. Mike Schmidt.
  19. It's reportedly a done deal now. A press conference is scheduled for 5:00 P.M. Saturday for the official announcement.
  20. It doesn't even need to be teams still alive for the championship placing friendly bets. There's no reason teams that lost last week and are now in consolation brackets can't do so as well. And despite what Karen said my team will be feasting on peaches this week. :D
  21. Are they just directly controlled by the Cubs themselves? It would make sense as the rookie league team where they send almost everybody at one time or another and they play where the team trains, correct? My understanding is virtually nobody goes to Mesa games, whereas the rest of the minor league affiliates are all money making ventures that rely on crowds. That's right; I just wasn't thinking about the different arrangement. The affiliates are owned independently but have an agreement with the Cubs to provide the players.

  23. I'm sad about it. I think it was a mistake. But I just don't have the energy to be angry about it. I think it's just so much drama that's gone into the whole Prior thing, that while I'm upset about the decision, there's still a certain amount of relief that it's over. That's how I feel about it too, which is why I provided sad and angry as separate choices. I see the people who are happy about it are finally starting to crawl out of the woodwork. :D
  24. I was going to post that yesterday, but with all the discussion the past few days about Fukudome, Prior, and Mitchell, it slipped through the cracks. Mesa isn't considered a Cubs' affiliate? They weren't mentioned.
  25. The third one represents angry. So the crying one would be sad but understanding. That would be the shrugging shoulders smiley, which unfortunately isn't currently available. I would have included it if it were.
