I would not mind checking in on the price. Also it looks like the Phillies are trying to trade Jimmy Rollins before the season starts. The Tigers make sense as a trade partner there. I could also see the Yankees, because of course.
They call us, we ask for Bradley, they hang up. That's been the story all offseason. There's no reason for us to loosen up our trade demands now. If we don't get what we want, then we extend him or deal him at the deadline.
C Jake Fox 1B Brian Dopirak 2B Bobby Hill SS Lou Montanez 3B David Kelton OF Corey Patterson OF Felix Pie OF Nic Jackson Yeah, I don't think they all hit their ceilings. The original lineup posted is the dream but I bet the actual lineup looks nothing like that. One of the "core four" is going to be traded or make like one of the above guys I listed.
I keep thinking of him as the system replacement for DJ LeMahieu and Ronald Torreyes, undersized infielder with a very strong hit tool. I'd love to see what he can do as he moves up in the system and hopefully stays healthy.
There are a lot of interesting names on that list. Edwards will be protected. And we may see Baez and Henricks on the big league club this year so they'll likely be added long before needed anyway. I also forgot McNutt and Nick Struck were still here.
http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=9927&position=OF#value Yeah, it's a big jump but he is arguably worth it. His bWar has been 3.9 or better his last three full seasons and Oliver has him with at least a 3 WAR in each of the next three seasons.
I know the Cubs won't land either of them, but I would prefer either over Darwin Barney. I would rather start Bonifacio or Valbuena at second than Barney. I'd love to have Franklin or Miller or even Ackley.
Braves extend Kimbrel. And Reds are working toward an extension with Homer Bailey, reportedly six years and about $100 million. That seems like a lot for him.
Kind of vague. Hope it's nothing too serious. Apparently it is some lingering neck issue and he didn't want to pitch through it, though he hasn't ruled out pitching next year/
Rays trade Jose Lobaton and two minor leaguers (supposedly in their Top 30) for Nate Karns. Am I missing something? Is a 25 year old in AA worth a decent backup catcher and two somewhat intriguing prospects?
I had the same thoughts on Hultzen. I'd love to have him but we played the injured prospect card already on Vizcaino and he still hasn't thrown a pitch for us. I'd love to buy low on Ackley, too. Getting Ackley and Paxton would be nice, but I'm not sure the Mariners would do it. I think I would rather just hold of until the deadline.
