  2. Good depth move. He's been pretty effective for the Braves the past few years. Anything that has the chance at keeping Schlitter in AAA.
  3. Fun early season stats: DJ LeMahieu leads the majors in batting average Luis Valbuena is tied for 4th in the AL in home runs Rizzo is tied for 4th in the NL in stolen bases and leads the majors in OBP
  4. Black and Rivero. I like Black's upside, but what do I know? I really don't get the sudden Sczcur love. He did have a great ST but he wouldn't even be in discussion right now if not for that. Maybe he can be a decent 4th OF but I think that's his best case scenario.
  5. I think there's a baseball game on tonight so I might watch that.
  6. Maybin and Quentin for Upton is a bit of a wash. Swap of bad contracts. If you take those out, it's Kimbrel for Wisler, Paroubeck and the 41st pick in the draft. It's not terrible for the Braves, though they could've gotten more. And man are the Padres gonna be amusing to watch this year.
  7. Talk about selling low. Cahill had a FIP under 4.00 last year and is still 27.
  8. In case anyone was keep tracking of our Rule 5 guys we lost:
  9. OK, so which of Bryant's home runs will be the one to break the video board? Or does Soler beat him to it?
  10. Need to sell tickets to that Cape May Courthouse crowd just looking for an excuse to get to the Bank! Well they just announced they're serving hard liquor at concession stands this season. Gotta put people in the seats somehow. Last year me and some friends sat lower level along the 3rd base line for a game against the Mets and tickets were like $30. Eagles chants were already starting. It was June.
  11. I had been hoping Szczur would have an awesome few weeks or something and convince someone like Amaro that he needed to have him. Cmon, Rube. Don't let me down.
  12. Coke made the roster.
  13. Gonna go with an ERA around 3.75-4.00. I think he starts off awesome but the league starts to figure him out in the second half.
  14. Braves release James Russell. That didn't last long. Any chance we scoop him back up?
  15. From Brett: http://www.bleachernation.com/2015/03/27/cubs-reportedly-looking-for-pitching-could-try-to-get-it-for-welington-castillo/ Who would be a possible target?
  16. The Dodgers spent $115.5 mil on Olivera, Alex Guerrero and Erisbel Arruebarruena. And they're all behind Jimmy Rollins, Howie Kendrick, Juan Uribe, Justin Turner and Darwin Barney on the depth chart. Must be nice to have the money.
  17. A scouting report of Will Ferrell: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/112523810/actor-will-ferrells-scouting-report-talent-evaluators-weigh-in
  18. I don't think an offer of Wood, Castillo, Almora, Vogelbach and another lower tier prospect seems unrealistic. Those are good players who become starters and top prospects for the Phillies. However, It IS unrealistic that Amaro would accept that deal. Though I'm not sure how much better an offer he could field. I get the feeling Hamels isn't going anywhere before July.
  19. Yeah, losing Darvish is a huge blow. And I doubt trading anything for Travis Wood makes any difference in that divisional race. They'll probably go with what they have.
