  1. That is such a badass graphic for such annoyingly disappointing news.
  2. And struck out in his first at bat. I love him but man you could've written that outcome. Hope he gets a few more looks. Mike Rucker also in their AAA pen trying to make it back.
  3. Seriously which baseball god did we piss off this season?
  4. I was at the game yesterday. Got a foul ball in batting practice off Mo Baller's bat. It was all downhill from there.
  5. Maton to the IL. Also Carlson DFAd for Seiya. Kinda surprised it wasn't Kingery but I guess there's better OF depth in Iowa in case he gets claimed vs infield.
  6. Yeah, let Brown cook as a potentially solid setup guy. I think he's done as a starter, as nice as that dream was.
  7. On the plus side, this is basically how last season started and it worked out......kinda. Glad we have some depth (not sarcasm). Assad/Rea will fill in, maybe Wiggins gets a look, Steele is back in a month. Hopefully it's not a huge issue beyond a few weeks on the IL.
  8. Are we not all Happy and Hoerny?
  9. Yeah everyone here was debating where he would fall in between 150 and 200. Deferrals put it about 22.5 a year. Yes he is a defense/speed guy but he does those things extremely well and is a great contact hitter. FWIW, Fangraphs has him worth more than $30 mil each of the last 4 seasons. It does seem like he took less to stay put.
  10. Heck yeah! That's one way to make us forget about the loss. This was an important move. I think if they extend Happ or Seiya it will be Happ, in part because he's been a glue guy and will take less money to stay. Seiya is great but gets injured a lot and will command more as a power hitting RFer.
  11. Roster resource also has the ST invite guys Vince Velasquez and Kyle Wright. There's also Grant Kipp, indy ball signing Connor Schultz, KBO signing Charlie Barnes and (when he's back and healthy) Jordan Wicks.
  12. It's tough because Conforto cannot play in the field anymore. Carlson can play all three positions out there. I think an ideal scenario would be Alcantara taking the 4th OF spot at some point. Maybe he doesn't get more than 200 at bats but he can cover all three positions and isn't a liability with the bat. I'm assuming they didn't want to relegate him to bench bat right away and wanna get him some more playing time in Iowa.
  13. That is surprising considering we could've cut other people. And I also don't understand why we're keeping Cowles but giving the bench spot to Kingery. Even if the plan is to just DFA the person after Seiya comes back, we've done it with Cowles multiple times. I get it, it's last minute, end of roster finagling but feels like we have no need for Justin Dean or Cowles or other relievers on the 40 man.
  14. Yeah I think this is it. Carlson makes the team. I don't think Kingery was a serious finalist.
  15. Love it. I know they tried last year. What are we thinking are the terms?
  16. Conforto will be on the OD roster.
