  1. Not sure where to put stuff like this unless we start a Trade Deadline thread:
  2. Our long national nightmare is over. The bullpen has really undergone an overhaul in the past week.
  3. Actually, speaking of Mark Reynolds...remember when he got off to an awesome start and some thought maybe he turned it around? He is 0 for his last 19 and in his last 110 at bats, he has 50 Ks and a .471 OPS.
  4. Man I didn't realize how he'd slumped this year. Those are some pedestrian numbers. Then again, we were saying that about Dom Brown and he finally remembered how to hit this season.
  5. Just make it mandatory that Mark Reynolds, Adam Dunn, Prince Fielder, Giancarlo Stanton, Chris Davis and David Ortiz are in it every year.
  6. Any chance this part of a larger Garza trade? Highly unlikely but they are interested. Otherwise this came outta nowhere. I think this means DeJesus hangs around another year, especially with us likely trading Schierholz.
  7. Josh Donaldson was hosed; shoulda made the All-Star team. (never thought I'd say that).
  8. That was the plan from the start, you know. I figured as much. They didn't waste much time on it.
  9. Homer Bailey just tossed a no-hitter.
  10. MLBTR has a roundup on reaction and follow up to the trade: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/reactions-to-the-feldman-arrieta-trade.html
  11. Eh. I wonder how much the slot money is. I'm ok with taking Arrieta and seeing if we can't fix something or try him out of the pen. That said, I would've preferred a prospect as opposed to Strop but what's done is done. Not disappointed but not excited either.
  12. That's a few weeks old. And from a different angle the ball was actually like 5 feet behind him.
  13. This was old five years ago. Do they just recycle material like a bad comedian and assume it still gets laughs?
  14. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?c_id=mlb&content_id=49475890&partnerId=as_mlb_20130603_8509184&ymd=20130603#alvote0603 JETER. FIFTH. WHAT.
  15. We have Shawn Camp sucking nearly every time he trots out there, but Bowden is the one DFA'd to make room for Garza. I don't get it.
  16. Yeah, that's who I would've guessed. He hasnt pitched well his last couple of outings. Sealed his fate. Couldn't bump Wood or Feldman. Also, what's going on with Scott Baker? I haven't heard any news recently.
  17. Yup. I liked the Harden trade at the time, though I was sad trading our favorite ginger outfielder for him. Happy for Donaldson. Didn't think he'd do this well either.
  18. So how many pitchers have made the jump from dumpster-diving pickup to closer quicker than Kevin Gregg (as temporary as it is)?
  19. Such a tool. Was there ever a follow-up to Brian Kenney ripping him apart and challenging him to a discussion?
  20. God, they're gonna be good for awhile.
  21. John Buck thinks he's Mike Piazza. Also Jason Grilli has 8 saves and 15 Ks in 9 innings and a 0.00 ERA.
  22. I just noticed that Paul Maholm is 3-0 with zero earned runs and 20K in 20 IP to start the year. Also, Joey Votto currently has a .289 average........and a .542 OBP.
  23. Kevin Gregg and Kameron Loe in the same day? I smell a championship!
