  1. Brandon McCarthy to the Yanks for Vidal Nuno. Good deal for NY.
  2. Just tuning in. Need to digest this a little. On the surface it looks like a solid infielder, a good but raw outfielder and a young pitcher in need of fine tuning (like Arrieta). And a ptbnl. Someone tell me how to feel about this return. And any idea on the ptbnl? I saw someone mention an alcantara?
  3. My favorite Molina moment was when Lilly planted him at home plate. Dude's a pompous tool and I'd dislike him on any team. Why the Votto and Hamilton hate?
  4. I want to rage against his face. What a stupid article. I can't believe I gave that a click.
  5. Neifi? Jose Macias? I assume everyone blocked the Dusty years out of memory. Also I was at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs game today (Phillies AAA team) and was shocked that Koyie Hill was on the roster. Why does anyone want him?
  6. I assume he means TINSTAAPP (there is no such thing as a pitching prospect).
  7. The Mets demoted Travis d'Arnaud. Ex-Cub Anthony Recker is now the starter at catcher.
  8. Agreed. His FIP is more than a full run lower than his ERA and he is still just 26.
  9. At first glace I like both picks, especially if Schwarber can stick behind the plate, even for a few seasons. Both players have good scouting reports and could get through the minors quickly. And we saved money for a few interesting picked in the later rounds. As others said, it also depends on what they do with those savings. Can't judge too much now.
  10. Former Cubs minor leaguer moving up in the world:
  11. Who else in the Rockies system would make a good deal sweetener or second piece after Gray/Butler? Any good catchers in their system or interesting arms in the low minors?
  12. They will also promote him for tomorrow's game.
  13. Was at a concert last weekend in Philly and Eagles players Jason Kelce and Conor Barwin happened to be there and decided our table was the one they wanted to sit at. They were with their own friends so they spent more time talking to them but they were friendly and chatted with us for a little.
  14. I'm ok with Lewan, though I thought the OT depth was enough that we didn't need to go after him in the first. Really wanted Anthony Barr, but with him and Gilbert gone and no surprises falling to us, I didn't have a problem with Lewan at all. He'll replace Roos after this season at LT. In the second round, if we were going to go RB, my preference was Sankey so I'm pretty happy about that. Going with a different position at 2 and then taking Andre Williams in the fourth would've been better, but I like Sankey a lot. Mettenberger was one of three QBs I wanted the Titans to go after - Aaron Murray and Logan Thomas were the other two. I like Mettenberger the least, but really only because of his off the field and health problems. I think he has a real chance to unseat Locker sometime this season, but all a chance to bust completely. Huge arm, prototypical size and decent enough mobility make him a worthwhile pick and I think he has the potential to keep us from having to take a QB in the first round next year. Overall, I'm pretty happy. A few slight issues here and there with who was taken, but I'll trust the FO and new coaching staff until they prove me differently. Yeah, I wanted Barr in the first. I don't know, the more I think about it, the more I don't really like the Lewan pick. So many other areas of need. He probably won't start this year. I like the Sankey pick. Needed a new RB. Also loved the DaQuan Jones pick, as a Penn Stater myself. He is a great plug on the line. I had Metternberger in mind but I didn't think he would slip that far. It's a great value pick. I'm on the Locker bandwagon still, but this gives Locker a year to prove it and Mettenberger a year to learn the offense and get his s--t together.
  15. Dew, haven't been reading the whole thread; thoughts on Mettenberger and the rest of the Titans draft?
  16. Have we reached a new low that Sutcliffe is openly rooting for Junior Lake to make an out so he can eat a hot dog?
  17. I keep forgetting about Rhee. It feels like he's been in the system forever.
  18. Looks like Veras was cool with the fake injury after all. I'm honestly curious if he ever makes it back on the 25 man roster at this point. Bigger waste, Veras or Scott Baker?
