He will if he's told to; otherwise he'd be in breach of contract and the Cubs would probably have the right to void the remainder of his contract. He might do a half-ass job of it, but he doesn't have the right to refuse to play the position. oh really, roger cossack.

if they don't want/get dunn and want to see if they can land gonzalez or fielder, i guess i'd be fine with him playing 1b for the almost certainly terrible 2011 cubs. -
holy cow, carlos lee blows this year.

He's not horrible in the OF. I've seen him play horribly many many times and make very few catches that were not routine. On a scale from 1-10(10 being the best) he would come in around a 4 IMO and he is only that high b/c he has a great arm. He is better than Dunn out there but is well below average. you know, with all the flaws in the available defensive metrics, i'm really starting to warm to this 1-10 scale business.

i typically don't care much about a 1b's defense, but isn't dunn's 1b defense so catastrophically bad that it would actually matter?

looks like rodelo picked up slowey this morning and started him today. it doesn't appear as though he is replacing someone who is hurt so he shouldn't get those points.

looks like he needs 3.6 plate appearances per game the rest of the way to qualify for the batting title. yay something to root for.

quite the clusterf at the top of the east GHS 11-6 KR 11-6 RWD 11-6 HBC 10-7 i believe if i beat raw this week (he's 8-9) i would guarantee myself finishing ahead of him, though i think his playoff chances may technically still be alive. the question is, who do i want to win the kid rodelo/HBC matchup? an HBC loss goes a long way toward guaranteeing myself a playoff spot, but a rodelo loss helps me in my efforts for a first round bye...

is he the one that put heyward in his lineup today or did one of the commissioners do it? in any event, he should not be allowed to have heyward in his lineup. lineups are due monday and heyward wasn't in the lineup on that day. and it's not like he just came off the DL. i think it's pretty clear that he can't be in there.
