so what's the rule? NO team can pick up and keep ANY player once the fantasy regular season is over?

i'm assuming you're forwarding all your self-righteous, "integrity of the game," condescending, "i'm so disappointed in you" business al's way since he has tarnished our great league in the same way i have by breaking your unwritten rule.

and the regular season is still ongoing. thus how i use my rosters spots is up to me. i AM playing by the same rules as everyone else. these rules http://www.northsidebaseball.com/forum/topic?f=24&t=25627 and these rules http://roadkill123.baseball.cbssports.com/rules. i guess i didn't follow your arbitrary "unwritten rules" or abide by your "integrity of the game" [expletive]. but if you feel the need to retroactively apply rules to me and me only, i guess enjoy your power trip and take eric [expletive] young jr off my [expletive] roster.

i have a great sleeper in mind for the draft next year, but i don't know if i should take him because i wouldn't want to look for an advantage over the other teams.

we should write it down then. because if you say i can't have him even though i clearly did nothing against the rules (though it was apparently against your unwritten rule), it smacks of you retroactively applying a random rule simply because you don't like me. if that's how you want to come off, go ahead and take him off my roster. sorry, but dumping players you have no intention on keeping on weaker teams to pillage their draft picks is the biggest example of exploiting a loophole i can possibly think of. you're trading a free agent. but it's not against the rules (much like picking up EY was not against the rules) so life goes on.

Here's a better counteroffer: You start playing by the same rules as the rest of us without whining about it and I'll promise never to mention the name Ben Sheets in this league again. counter-counteroffer. you show me what rule i violated by picking up eric young jr and i'll give you ben sheets, eric young jr and season 1 of undercover boss on dvd. that's pretty fair.

ps - if anybody's whining about not getting their way, it's you and robert. i picked up a minor leaguer while the mlb season was still going on. there is no rule against it (at least there wasn't when i did it), so i get to keep him. you're the ones whining about it, not me. you seem to want to establish a system where rules are retroactively created solely to punish me. if that makes you feel better, then we can do it that way.

and why wouldn't i want to pick up a minor leaguer after my season was over to keep for next year? either the season is over for purposes of roster moves after your fantasy team is out of it or it's not.

if we want to talk about preventing the abuse of loopholes that occur after the season is over, let's talk about teams trading players they have no intention of keeping for draft picks. after all, this actually occurs after the season is over, both the fantasy season and the mlb season. that seems like a much bigger deal than me picking up a minor leaguer during the season.

by the way, you guys sure wanted to follow the letter of the law when it came to ben sheets. i don't see anyone quoting rules in this situation.

if the points my players are scoring right now are still counted against my cap, i don't know how you can say my season is "over."

cool your jets. he stated this rule after i picked up the guy. and it's a [expletive] nonsense rule that allows teams in the playoffs to pick up players to prepare for next season while other teams cannot. i picked up fukudome on the sunday i got eliminated from the playoffs. like 2 days later i picked up ey jr. i guess i should be allowed to keep fukudome and not ey. that is idiotic. and holy [expletive] [expletive], if you bring up [expletive] ben sheets one more time i'm quitting this [expletive] league. he was [expletive] garbage for like two months before his arm fell off. quit acting like i abused a loophole and rode ben sheets' cy young season to a championship this year. my goodness.

that doesn't make any sense. the season is still going on. so if some mlb team brought up a 2010 draftee right now, only the teams competing in the playoffs would be eligible to pick him up?
