  1. well, we all know that's not going to happen until geo becomes the accomplished bunter that koyie is.
  2. you should get better players. they would probably play more. just trying to help.
  3. It has a lot more potential than Creighton. ISU fans are pretty devoted. And it wasn't too long ago that Tim Floyd made them a player in the Big 12. clearly, isu is a step above creighton. there were in the elite eight within the past ten years. he's being mentioned as a candidate for the coaching job. can't say i'm on board with that.
  4. What the hell if Lebron's endgame from this? Trying to get more young ballers to join his brand? Or is it he trying to become the NBA's biggest douche? He and Cal are both buddies with World Wide Wes. Nothing more than that. I thought LeBron was going to tOSU though? Hasn't he said that many times? He such a dbag at this point. He's only said OSU since he has been in the Pro's a couple years. Everyone assumed Akron but who knows. I still hold an irrational belief he would have chosen Purdue because he showed up to his first NBA game where a Bob Griese Purdue throwback jersey and when asked said he always like Purdue. I can dream. that's a weird dream. man, i wish this guy who had no intention at all of playing college basketball would have chosen my team had he not had no intention at all of playing college basketball. that would be SO awesome.
  5. well, that just saved isu a boatload of cash.
  6. way to sit the streakiest hitter in the history of baseball when he's swinging the bat well, dummy.
  7. i'm truly sorry you had to go through this.
  8. aaron hill off the DL and into my lineup. skippy to the bench.
  9. i want to know where the notion that hill was a good defensive catcher came from. back in high school, there was a kid on our basketball team that was a horrible shooter/offensive player. so he was deemed our defensive stopper even though his defense was no better than anyone else's. i think that's the situation with hill.
  10. if there's anyone you can count on to calmly enter a 2-2 game in the 8th inning and not walk the first two guys he faces, it's most definitely zambrano.
  11. Very helpful, and it shows me that Raw has a good chance of going over starts this week unless he starts benching pitchers. :) you shouldn't bring this up until the week is over. Why, what's the harm in saying that he has a good chance of going over? what's the benefit? what if his 8th start is -20? this about happened to me last week. had HBC not hit two late sunday hr's, i would have won with carpenter's negative start counting. but since i brought it up, i'm sure chuck would have noticed, gotten that 8th start taken away and actually added to his score in doing so.

  13. i've never had a problem counting to seven, so i haven't really noticed it.
  14. remember when latroy hawkins was actually pretty good for the cubs and most fans irrationally hated him?
  15. I disagree. A system that picks and chooses how to apply rules based on the amount of points each team has is way more ridiculous than applying the rules the same for everyone. it's not a system that picks and chooses based on the points of each team. the system i guess we have in place now rewarded him for breaking the rules. plain and simple. it has nothing to do with how many points either of us had.
  16. The fact that there is a past thread addressing this negates what you are saying 100%. oh, was chuck relying on that old thread when he accidentally used 8 starts? i guess i should have told chuck he was over his starts (as is my duty) the day before. i'll try and babysit my next opponent more carefully.
  17. fact of the matter is, chuck won our game solely because he used eight starts. any system that allows a team to win solely due to the fact that they failed to follow the rules is completely ridiculous.
  18. lol, i guess congrats to whoever the next person is that faces chuck when he uses an extra start. good luck keeping track of that mess. pretty dumb rule. doesn't do a whole hell of a lot to dissaude you from not paying attention.
  19. What are you talking about? I have no idea either. I gave up my 2 best prospects (Wallace/Stanton), a potential future ace (Zimmermann) and the 3rd best SS in this trade. It makes me a contender this year, but may hurt in the future depending on how Stanton and Wallace pan out. the 3rd best ss currently battling polio maybe.
  20. doesn't reyes have the plague or something? black death?
  21. so we're going to have to keep track of how many times a particular manager has failed to follow the rules? yeah, that will be a complete nightmare to keep track of. i don't know why these benefits are given to the manager who can't count to 7. sorry, but there should be a penalty for using too many starts and forcing juan or whoever to go back and sort out all this crap. losing a -5.5 start and being rewarded with a WIN in a week you would have otherwise LOST is not so much a penalty as it is a really nice treat. bottom line is, if chuck had used seven starts this week, he would have lost. plain and simple. instead, he is rewarded with a win just because of what times the games started. that's stupid.
  22. damn, if i had known greinke was available for a guy who might die and prospects i would have picked daryl kile up off waivers to match that offer.
  23. that seems to be a pretty illogical solution which will reward the person who failed to follow the rules as often as it will punish them. i think the solution is to take away that person's best start from the week, but, at the very least, they should be forced to take the worst of the sunday starts. there should be some punishment for not following the rules. if you take away carpenter's start, chuck has been rewarded for using too many starts...especially since he said before either guy's start that he would have used carpenter over burnett had he been paying attention. he ends up better off than that he would have been had he followed the rules. that seems to be a pretty absurd result.
  24. i may have still won even with HBC getting burnett's start had heyward not hit a meaningless 9th inning hr.
  25. same with me and the carpenter/burnett issue.
