  1. Seriously? Paging a sports agent. I am now willing to suit up again. I figure you're going to have to start in the 4/20 range to get my attention, and I'd be well worth the money compared to some of these other contracts.
  2. I don't think that's true, Odalis Perez is set to make about 7.5 or so next year. Odd, one site said he was due 1.7 next year, but you are right. Maybe that's how much the Royals owe him, since the Dodgers sent money to them in that deal? I dunno. Cot's made my brain hurt... Odalis Perez p 3 years/$24M (2005-07), plus 2008 club option * acquired in trade (from LA Dodgers) 7/06, with about $16.3M left on Perez' contract... o LAD paying to KC $8M cash o KC responsible for Dessens' 2006 & 2007 salaries ($2.4M left) o LAD responsible for Perez' $4.5M bonus o KC & LAD to split $1.5M 2008 buyout Looks to me like they're roughly splitting Odalis's contract.
  3. I thought he already retired.
  4. I think they've given up on Upton at SS. They traded for Ben Zobrist who they really like at SS. With that said, I'd love to have BJ Upton at short. Zobrist will likely end up being a utility player or traded. Reid Brignac is in the top 3 among minor league SS (Wood and Tulowitzki). I'll take a utility guy that gets on base as much as Zobrist. I'm pretty sure he got on base 6 times one game, which is amazing considering he only had 4 plate appearances. For those too lazy to look it up, his career minor league line is 324/434/453/887
  5. There are actually two positions left. CF and SS. Don't forget 2B... Mark DeRosa? Like he said, 2B...
  6. Sweet Lou is the best manager the Cubs have right now, and it isn't even close. How bored are you that you could dig up that old thing?
  7. Me neither...weird. Make that 3. Whaddya have to say 'bout that, RichHillIsABeast?
  8. Gammons has been taking it easy. Ken used to just get his leftovers.
  9. well then ESPN 1000 must be like 100 times more reliable, right? *dusts off abacus You missed a spot. 1000 is only 10 times more reliable than 100.
  10. Can't -- I got my line tied up with 1-900-Mix-A-Lot.
  11. I'd guess within 30 minutes its at 20. Just give them time to come here.
  12. It doesn't really matter who is pitching, he should never bat higher than 11th.
  13. Cub life? Dec 6 - Ryan Church has been the subject of much of the Nationals' discussions, and there are indications the Cubs might be interested, the Washington Post reports. Chicago is trying to trade outfielder Jacque Jones, and Church could be a cheaper left-handed hitter to replace him.
  14. do you really see dempster's ability as good enough to close? I think Demp had to be injured or something. I mean, sure he had some close calls but he was stellar all of 2005 and half 2006. I'm more inclined to think 05 was an aberration. His entire career has been much less than stellar.
  15. Ditto, especially if they deal Peavy for something other than an offensive superstar.
  16. Although it would probably be a defensive nightmare, I would most certainly take a Murton-Soriano-Loney outfield.
  17. I'll bet the Griff's equaled that in endorsements though.
  18. I'm a bit out of shape, but I'm fairly confident I could do it.
  19. Um, haven't a couple of people already told you tonight that you can't kid?
  20. Wasn't the title of the last thread about this signing the exact same?
