Not if he can play centerfield. A lot of teams would love a guy with a .360+ OBP at the top of their lineup who can play an adequate CF. It's not as if they are going to put him in LF or RF and ask him to hit 25+ HR's. This is making the assumption that you are going to get that out of Theriot or Patterson. I'm wondering if they are thinking of having a Lofton/Theriot platoon in CF. That would be fine with me if SS was upgraded.

I never had any sort of crush on Erstad. He has been terrible for quite a while now, and I don't see him as ever being able to contribute positively again. A big fat NO to Erstad, and I hope any of the posters who had chubbies for him have now all been banned. -

It's funny that you mention that, I heard or read somewhere (I can remember where) that Church is very religious and use to openly proselytize in the clubhouse. Don't know if it is true. I thought proselytution was illegal?

I think Maholm is much better than Marshall and probably better than all of the guys who gave it a whirl last year.
