  1. Here we go again.... http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-os0127,0,5598077.story
  2. It's funny to read their board and have dumb posters be like "NO PIE, NO DEAL." I don't see where they get off thinking Pie is even worth Roberts. There is no way we would put Pie in the deal!!!! Anyway just my two cents.
  3. Here is the direct link to what the above poster is talking about.. http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170578
  4. Unless he just wants the money i dont see him going to the Royals. I have a feeling he will be in Chicago next year, just don't know what side of town. Hoping it is the Cubs!!
  5. Sorry not to include this.....it is the 8th section from the bottom of the chat.
  6. "BREAKING -- looks like Fukudome will decide today. Someone made a big offer. My guess? Cubs." This is from Will Carroll of baseball prospectus. Here is the link to the chat scroll to the bottom. http://baseballprospectus.com/chat/chat.php?chatId=390
  7. Do you see the Cubs making any SIGNIFICANT trades before the end of the meetings?
  8. Let's see do i take $1mill more to play for a team that was 16 games under .500 or do i take $1mill less and play for a team that has the better chance of winning?
  9. And so it begins http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3133290
  10. Oh, and not to mention that he had 26 homers last year which would have put him in a tie with Ramirez for second on the team and 94 RBI's which i believe would have put him second as well behind Soriano. Also coming off the worst year of his career he still managed to pull off grabbing another gold glove.
  11. You can't sit there and say a guy sucks after having one bad season in the last 10. I think it would be great to have him on ouor team but we have to remember that Boras is his agent which means he is going to want the money, plus we have other holes to fill this offseason.
  12. So reading between the lines we are trading 2 position players and 3 pitchers for 2 position players. This makes no sense because that leaves us three bullpen arms short, i don't see how the Cubs can pull this off. Why are we giving up most of the players in this deal?

  14. So with Jones being traded and the Cubs acquiring Infante, it looks like the Cubs payroll is around $90 mill right now. Now, it's said that we will have a $115 mill budget for 2008 which means, if i did my math correctly, that we have $25 mill to spend. Although this does not include players like wood that need to be re-signed. Is that $90 mill number correct?
  15. Why would you not want a guy that plays excellent defense hits around .275 - .300 a year and gives you about 25 - 30 homers?
