  1. It seems impossible to buy the tickets to the 7/1 game. I have been getting high transaction volume errors for 20 minutes.
  2. I'm in but have been trying for 10 minutes and can't buy due to high transaction volume.
  3. When this system was used for Red Sox tickets, it was about 10-15 minutes per position in line.
  4. Wouldn't more spots in line be a help. Nope. Every open window takes the same place in line... at least for me.
  5. And so my 40 VWR's have been thwarted by the virtual line!
  6. I'm really curious to see how much the demand has changed this year. I know this is the least enthusiastic I have been in years about buying tickets. I will be signing into the VWR as always, but I will definitely be buying much less than in recent years.
  7. James Johnson for MVP?
  8. Silva has assumed the #4 spot about as much as I would if I declared myself a Cubs starter.
  9. We will be in the NIT. And lose in either the 1st or 2nd round. They're easily in the tournament if they beat Indiana and Iowa at home, and don't lose to a bad team in the Big Ten tournament. That is what everyone thought last year and I thought they deserved it. They don't deserve anything this year.
  10. We will be in the NIT. And lose in either the 1st or 2nd round.
  11. I keep hearing people say that Illinois is in the tournament, but I can't make a case for them short of making it to the Big 10 tournament final.
  12. Illinois has got away with plenty of fouls tonight. That certainly has not been the problem.
  13. I really can't blame scalpers for wanting to make easy money, but I philosophically agree with your statement. I know a lot of people who buy tickets only to re-sell them, but I personally would feel a little shady making a large profit at someone else's expense. At someone else's expense? It's not like a baseball game is life and death. It's entertainment. I don't understand people getting upset about scalping. And I've personally never scalped. To me, going to the event is worth more than the money made from it but I don't understand getting angry about people who don't feel this way. I never said I was angry about it. In fact, I said I can't blame people for doing it. I just said that I don't feel right doing it myself.
  14. Now all we need is Jerry Angelo to turn those into 8 2nd round picks.
  15. Saturday or Sunday? Oops. Sunday. I may be interested. Are those the $50 tickets? They were $52 a piece.
  16. Saturday or Sunday? Oops. Sunday.
  17. I bought 4 for Sunday (RF Upper Box), but only need 2. Would anyone be willing to trade 2 on Friday for my extra 2 on Sunday?
  18. Were you able to buy 2 and 2 under 1 login? If so, I screwed up. I thought I had to get all 4 tickets to the same game, so I didn't split mine up. Oh well. As for hotels, I'm staying at the Marriott in Cambridge. It looks really nice and only about a mile from Fenway, but fairly pricey.

  20. I got selected on 1 out of my 3 submissions, but after reading how many other people got selected it still doesn't sound very likely that I will actually get tickets. Has anyone bought Red Sox tickets in the past? Will it be the same system the Cubs use where you can open 50 windows up, or will it be 1 window per login?
  21. According to David Schuster, the deal is most likely in the range of 2-3 years at approximately $6M per year.
  22. I disagree... the sweetest words are "Chicago Cubs baseball is on the air."
  23. I imagine the chances of getting picked are next to zero, but I have already booked my flight and hotel so I'm going to have to come up with tickets somehow.
  24. He is tolerable for an occasional game, but if I have to listen to his Otto-isms all summer long I'm pretty sure I'll be beating my head on my desk at work.
