In Game 1 of the 2007 NBA Finals the Cavaliers started Sasha Pavlovic, Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas with Mike Brown on the bench. I think that qualifies and then some. The Heat can't afford players the caliber of 2007 Gooden, Hughes, or Ilgauskas. The Heat don't need players of that caliber. Exactly, I don't understand why everyone thinks Miami needs studs to back them up. Sure you need bench and role players but you DON'T need studs when you have 3 superstars on the same team. I think they will suffer a bit in the regular season due to their lack of depth and not wanting to rely on the "big 3" for heavy minutes every game. Once they tighten up their rotation in the playoffs however, the lack of depth will be much less of an issue.
