    Is it just me, or is it creeping toward the center of the screen? I know they have to accommodate people without HD sets, but it looks somewhat out of place on a wide screen TV.

    I just checked my waiting list position and I made a big jump recently. I was at 12,000 a few months ago and now I am up to 8,000. Has anyone had any luck with updating their contact info? The Cubs sent me an email a few months ago to update my contact info. When I go to the website, they ask for me to enter my account number or email address and then they say they are sending me an email with details, but I have tried multiple times and that email never shows up (not in my spam folder either).

    6 teams might make sense logistically, and I fear we are headed there eventually, but that is far too easy for teams to make the playoffs. If you are going to play a long 162 game season, it needs to mean something. The only change I would have made to the playoffs was increasing the divisional round to 7 games. In a game that relies so heavily on statistics, any system that involves 1, 2, or 3 game playoff series just has way too much randomness involved in the outcome.

    Even signing him to an extension doesn't stop the Cubs from trading him later. Whoever trades for him most likely would have wanted to sign that same extension anyway.

    My guess is there would have been a lot of zip on his punch, but he would have swung and missed.

    No, they don't. According to everything I have read, the Yankees are trying to get under the luxury tax ceiling. I can't imagine them paying Soler significant money to sit in their Minor League system.

    According to Wikipedia, Soler was born 11/19/92, which means he just turned 19 a few months ago. I agree that it is a tad optimistic to expect anything from him at the major league level prior to 2014 at the absolute earliest.

    So what does this do for the Cubs in terms of ranking their minor league system? Combining this with last year's spending spree in the draft, are the Cubs closing in on a Top 10 farm system?

    I'm all for it. Re-open Wrigley Field in 2014 with a completely renovated ballpark and a rebuilt roster that is on the upswing and ready to compete for a division title in the near future.

    Unless they finish the season strong, which is highly unlikely based on their schedule, I think they will be a tough sell for the tournament.

    If Illinois loses this game, I am done watching college basketball this year. This is pure torture and I can't justify spending my time watching it.

    I took 4 years of Spanish in high school and I have no clue what you are talking about with regard to the pronunciation of Jose. http://www.forvo.com/word/jos%C3%A9/ The Spanish you learn in a midwestern Spanish class is going to sound markedly different from the Spanish you'll hear in most Spanish communities. I don't doubt that, but listening to native Spanish speakers at the link I provided, I would still say that "Ho-say" is the closest English phonetic representation. If the argument is simply that Spanish pronunciation can't be represented 100% accurately using English phonetics, then I guess I see where you are coming from.
