  1. By the way, this whole notion of Caleb Williams or any QB being of weary of being drafted by the Bears is one big load of horsefeathers. The only thing the Bears can blamed for is bad scouting and drafting flawed QB's, they didn't make or create any of their flaws. If they can't coach Justin Fields to speed up processing and read defenses, then, conversely, if Fields had that ability, they, sure as horsefeathers, couldn't have coached it out of him.
  2. Honestly, even Justin Fields would have looked good against the excuse the Bears called defense yesterday - I think.
  3. We're going to see an overcompensation against the Bucs - run, run, designed runs for Fields and more non-designed runs from Fields - count on it. Don't know if there's a betting line on passing attempts but, I'd take the under on 20, hell, I'd be shocked if he even attempts 15 passes.
  4. The correct answer is probably neither but, I can't think the offense will put it together before the defense.
  5. Of the two units I believe there's a good chance the defense improves, I've really no hope for the offense, unless they decide to hit horsefeathers it with Fields and go for broke. The bad aspect is with an improving defense we're back to whole defense, defense, try to manage TOP boring ass football.
  6. If he's staring down receivers is everyone really open? Given the defense knows where the ball is going to be thrown, is it not a real possibility the other receivers looking "open" are because of the secondary converging on the ball?
  7. Don't think there 's much overreaction on the Bears, what we saw was a continuation of '22 compounded by their lack preparedness. I don't recall preparedness being issue last season.
  8. There's nothing special about him, wouldn't be surprised if yesterday' game and their game in Lambeau against the Bears turnout to be his career highlights.
  9. How many of the pressures were a result of Fields holding on to the ball too long?
  10. How will the "run-first-QB' save your job? It's not sustainable and you've no chance of consistently winning, why not just go balls to walls with Fields? I believe you've got a better shot at winning with an aggressive approach.
  11. Uh-mm, the weather? Although unrelated, the Cubs finally managed to handle the crap Arizona put on the mound?
  12. That doesn't make sense, their only shot at winning is all out aggression, a constant stream run, run, screens is not going to work - ever. I'd rather take shots with Fields, who the horsefeathers cares if throws interceptions, than this mainly three yards and a cloud of dust nonsense.
  13. The one thing I won't fault Poles on is drafting Wright, sure Carter had a good game, but, in time, Wright will turn out to be just as good an NFL player.
  14. I was wondering that the other day, had they drafted Mahomes or, for that matter, Watson, would either have turned out any good? Once again, going back to our only hope is new ownership, because these clowns are never going to get it correct.
  15. By no means am I defending the coaching staff, however, with Fields it's also a possibility there isn't a coaching staff anywhere who could unlock his potential. Perhaps, the best is try to put him in a position to succeed. What that is I, and it certainly appears this coaching, don't know.
  16. To all those GB fans huffing and puffing that was a false positive yesterday, played a clearly unprepared terrible football team yesterday. There may a dose of reality when they play in real NFL game against a real NFL team.
  17. There's really no excuse for the above, maybe, someone should tell him if doesn't just let rip he's going to be ex-Bear and perhaps, ex-NFLer very, very soon.
  18. I agree, if you're going just roll over what's the point? Might as well just let Bagent run a few plays, at least, he'll try.
  19. Fields can take his post game apology to us fans and shove it up his ass, I'm tired of that BS.
  20. I had bad vibes after his dismal display against Buffalo and it carried over to game 1. Unfortunately, Fields is clearly not the answer, he checks every box but, the most important, the ability to read defenses. We've 16 more games of inane play calling because the Bears OC is not only terrible but, he's got a bad QB as well. So looking forward to run, run, run run, easily read screen passes, run, run, run, run, rinse and repeat. I believe our only hope for seeing another good Bears team in our lifetimes is a change in ownership. They clearly got the GM wrong again, there's a good chance they'll never get it correct.
  21. Same here, hope it's a good result, anything less than marked improvement in all facets of the passing game and Poles is going QB hunting next off season.
  22. As badly as I like to see Fields take a step forward and, finally, be a good NFL QB. It's hard not be discouraged by his performance against the Bills, saw the same old stuff from him, the yips on the short throws, holding on to ball too long, etc. Think the line will be much improved, he's got a far better receivers room than last years, he's out of excuses, time for him to put up or shut up.
  23. Losing to Arizona is frustrating, OK lineup but, outside of two pitchers, a really not very good pitching staff.
  24. What'll probably happen is the Cubs will get to and beat Kelley and Gallen but, be mesmerized by today's and Sunday's scrubs. Getting a series split but, have us pondering if they just could have beaten up on one of scrubs, 3 of 4 sure would have been nice.
  25. I'd rather the Reds or Giants be the third WC, I believe the Marlins, with their SP, could be quite dangerous, plus their horsefeathers eating luck in one-run games.
