  1. That would be the final step in the Bears' replacing the Detroit Lions as the NFL's laughing stock - if it hasn't already occurred.
  2. Booze, flashed a blind person?
  3. I think so, he's reached horsefeathers it and its for the better, not only for him but, for the Bears. The mistake was/is trying to turn him in to something he's not nor will ever be, that's not to say there cannot be improvements in his passing game. It's a quality OC who's going to find a way to put him in a position to succeed either Getsy figures that out or he's gone.
  4. Watched some analysis by Orlovsky, most especially on the route were Johnson, et. al. are wide open. Fields loads up to throw, without question, he processes it, sees it, just doesn't throw the ball. I'm not saying his pocket passing problems will disappear however, there's no question on some routes, plays he's seeing the correct things, just has to let it rip. Justin if you're going to salvage you're career, you've got to hit the horsefeathers it button and let it rip.
  5. Is asking the Bears to at least be competitive too much? It's not as if they're completely devoid of any talent, managing to be competitive shouldn't be unrealistic.
  6. Nothing, like I said a completely random and outrageous thought on my part.
  7. I know it's a completely radical idea, the most realistic hope for the Bears is them being sold.
  8. First name - Dollar, last name - Bill.
  9. Here's a fucked up idea, 2023 another tank, with Eberflus, et. al., being the sacrificial lambs they were hired to be, hire Deon. If there's anybody who sell Caleb Williams on being a Bear it sure as horsefeathers is Prime Time.
  10. Re-watched some of the Bagent analysis, the footwork is there, the drop back is quicker, if the Bears are say, 0-7, 0-8. I'd like to see what he can do, the footwork, etc. is there, regardless of where he came from.
  11. I know it's insane but, given the already unconventional just plain fucked up moves Poles has made, it may be in the realm of possibility.
  12. You think its possible that Poles wasn't enamored with any this years QB class that he chose to ride with Fields. Knowing there's a distinct possibility he'd fail thereby, setting up another tank. Going into 2024, with a much better QB class with the draft capital and evidence that they'll be in need of a QB? I wouldn't say outright sabotaging Fields but, improving what's around enough, where, if Fields is the answer it'll work out.
  13. A healthy Jenkins from day 1 would have made a tremendous difference, him going down right before the season started really hurt. I know the guy rarely plays, when he does, its makes a positive difference.
  14. I don't believe that's the answer either however, thus far, there have been times where it would have been truly effective. Take that ill fated screen that sealed the loss vs. Tampon Bay, they just ran a screen on the previous two plays, if Fields drops back, just like he did, appearing to set up the screen, fakes the throw and goes to his left he's got at least five yards. You had them sold on the screen, maybe, this is where the lack of creativity is showing up.
  15. Perhaps, it's a the response to Fields can't pass, he's just a glorified RB etc., these are all prideful guys who want show the critics up. Granted, there's also a good amount of fucked up-ness and dysfunction but, the heart of it may be their desire to give the bird to the critics.
  16. It's like trying to teach him to throw left handed, if Getsy and the Bears would accept he's not a pure pocket passer and work to his strengths, things will improve. Over correcting by running the ball 30+ times and passing less than 20 times vs. KC is not the answer. Even in the disaster that's been these two games, there have been times were Fields has executed from the pocket maybe, because it's less reads. On those occasions he's been decisive and ripped it, whatever that is, has to mixed with RPO's, designed runs, maybe, even a screen here and there.
  17. The possibility of over coaching was mentioned in the film breakdown. Is it possible we're seeing a little of trying too hard only making it worse? Thinking too much, Fields was criticized for bad footwork and nearly every drop back it appears he's thinking about it, perhaps, that's why the drop backs are so slow and methodical. He's trying to get everything perfect on every play.
  18. If the Bears are that position, there should definitely be a new GM making the pick and, yeah, if Williams wants turn down the Bears, he can go horsefeathers himself. Each and everyone of the QB's the Bears have drafted have been flawed, the Bears didn't create those flaws, the only thing that's true is they haven't been able to coach around the flaws.
  19. True however, he was hired by the McCaskey' so, you have that.
  20. You're right but, you've got completely inept ownership doing the hiring an they, unfortunately, cannot be fired. It'll be fun reading about they're "concern" and "anger" about how the games 1 and 2 have gone.
  21. But, then you'd have, once again, the McCaskey' trying to get it right with another GM hire. They'll, of course, hire the wrong guy again, and again, and again, forever, as long as they own the Bears.
  22. In all seriousness, what are the chances of this Bear team going 0 - 17? As absurd as it sounds, its a very real possibility, the defense is historically bad and the offense lacks a real NFL QB, that's an excellent recipe for losing. Throw in an inept coaching staff and you've got no chance.
  23. Thought about that as well, don't know if Carolina is going to be as bad for the Bears to be drafting #2 with their pick. Given what we have seen I'd say it's almost a forgone conclusion the Bears will be drafting number #1 and Poles will be hiring another HC.
  24. I really believe Poles was not sold on any of the QB's in last year' class, think that's why he was willing to roll the dice on Fields. 2024 is a far superior QB class, with 2 first round picks one of which (the Bears) is almost surely going to be top 3, Poles will be in position to draft one.
