    I'd rather the Reds or Giants be the third WC, I believe the Marlins, with their SP, could be quite dangerous, plus their horsefeathers eating luck in one-run games.

    Much like the NCAA, it's all about making the tournament, doesn't matter how, once in, anything can happen. So, I agree, if you're in, not worth going with Steele for the division in game 162.

    Saturday I kicked ass, rarity score of 95, used Gehrig, Ruth and Mantle to fill spots. Today completely terrible, first guess was Ed Farmer for Cubs-White Sox, of course, he never played for the Cubs nor did he ever drive in 100 runs. Cannot believe I missed on Sosa, did get Ordonez and Konerko.

    Taillon has been terrible, thought they'd be a larger regression to the mean however, it hasn't materialized. Still believe he's not truly as bad as he's been, may have to wait until next season to see a better version of him. Dude has also had the worst of luck, I don't he believe he's gotten away with many, if at all, mistakes appears, every bad pitch gets obliterated. I guess as well they should but, I saw Ashcraft and Spiers get away with several hanging sliders and change-ups, I suppose, that's baseball. Anyone play Baseball-Reference' Immaculate Grid? I finally filled in an immaculate grid on Saturday, so proud of myself, at the time my gird was the rarest, I used Gehrig, Ruth, Mantle and Vinny Castilla to fill some spots. I was surprised at the rarity of Gehrig, Ruth and Mantle, I'm getting old, saw some kid wearing a Tigers Mize jersey was about to tell him that Johnny Mize never played for the Tigers. Until I realized it was a Casey Mize maybe, he's related to Johnny Mize in some capacity? I sucked today, cannot believe I could not get more than Konerko and Ordonez, completely missed on Sosa, first guess was horsefeathers Ed Farmer on Cubs-White Sox, he never played for the Cubs.

    But, of course, Ashcraft' on hot streak, lately it seems as every SP the Cubs are facing are on some sort of a run. Probably not true, just the focus is on such things when the Cubs are in the playoff picture.

    For me it was the Diaz HR, quite literally, the only positive thing that clown did as a major league player. The highlight of his short career.

    It might be my imagination but, I remember the Marlins acting like they'd just won the horsefeathers WS after that Weathers game.

    Why not? Worked for the Marlins in '04 when Weathers, in a spot start, with next to nothing, managed to shut down the Cubs. '04, perhaps, the most frustrating, disliked Cubs team ever.

    is it time to move on from Jenkins? Too much of an injury liability, in 34 career games he's played in 19 of them, with this current injury he's likely to have played in less than half of his games as a Bear.

    Really that's the MO of media, most especially the Chicago media, don't know what's it's going to take for it to change. Fields could go 28-35, 450, 4TD's, 1INT, in leading the Bears to win and we'll still read about the pass that was intercepted along with him missing open receivers on various plays.

    Because you know, Mahomes or Rodgers, NEVER throw ****** short passes that are caught and made into something by the receiver. Whereas, every short pass or, pass, for that matter, that Fields attempts is horsefeathers in the air. Holy horsefeathers horsefeathers.

    Was going to write something along those lines as well, I could see the offense not clicking immediately, may take some time. Once it does, I believe we're going see an explosive offense, it'll be such that we've never seen as Bears fans. No more boring 17-19 points, clock management, generate turnovers, etc. BS.

    Well, there's a flip, the past decade plus it was the Illini with the fucked up football program, not anymore.

    Plus maybe, just maybe, Taillon is beginning a regression to the mean so, this in hand, along with Stroman and Steele, gives the Cubs the upper hand on the mound, in what, nine of those fifteen games? Perhaps, Hendricks or Smyly might throw in a good start or two and it's conceivable the Cubs could win 10 or 11 out of 15.

    I know, WTF?! On top of this Fulmer pitched in a high leverage situation and managed not to blow the game for the Cubs double WTF!

    Regression to the mean, it was bound to happen, well, at least, for one night anyway. Watching the highlights, appears Morel had just got under a couple, almost had Rodon squared up twice.

    While I was writing I had the same thought about lack of options, my post was born out of frustration, and also, knowing last nights loss is almost certainly going to be followed by another tonight.

    Once again Ross has shown his ineptitude regarding bullpen management. How many horsefeathering times does Fulmer has to show that he cannot be used in high leverage situations? Not saying the Cubs would have won in extra innings but, Ross' use of Fulmer never gave them a chance. Now you're almost certainly looking at another loss tonight which would have been less harmful had they won yesterday. I'm ready for Ross and Fulmer to both be jettisoned into the Sun. On the other hand sure would be nice if Taillon' starts regressing to mean with tonight' start.
