    If said manager had Derrek Lee on the team with him it's quite likely he would. The Cardinal organization would go ballistic if ANYBODY stuck Albert in the outfield. You guys can have your imaginary fun, but in reality, it would NEVER happen. Pujols would start at first base, and Derrek Lee would be a pinch-hitter extraordinaire. The Ranger organization would go ballistic if ANYBODY stuck Alex Rodriguez at third base. You can have your imaginary fun, but in reality it would NEVER happen.     I knew it! They tried to downplay the injury. Giving longterm money to this guy was too risky. The breakup of scar tissue isn't a big deal. It's not like he's out indefinitely like Prior. His contract is ridiculous though. I think it's more serious. I don't understand why he needs to miss two start considering this happened over 2 weeks ago and he hasn't pitched to hitters since. why do you think it's more serious, doctor?

    Yeah, but it lessens the blow, especially regarding those on this board who moaned that the Cubs should have signed him. how on earth does that "lessen the blow?" hahaha, another team that isn't even in our league has a big name pitcher injured, lol! oh wait, wood and prior are still hurt. that doesn't lessen any blow.

    Considering his reported demands for Lugo and Huff (which weren't much different from LaMar's), I really don't think it was premature. what were his demands for lugo, then? don't even try saying andy marte, either.

    I thought LeMar was fired after the 2005 season? He was, but his replacement (Hunsicker I think?) hasn't been much of a step up. how can you even evaluate him yet? he hasn't been in the position for more than a few months. saying something as drastic as that is a little premature, don't you think?

    huh? why would any teams in sale mode trade off some of their top prospects at the deadline? this seems like something a selling team would try to acquire (and be successful), not a buying team. I think the prospects relate to what the Cubs would be buying if they were selling the likes of Lee, Jones, Pierre to a contender. yes, but if that were the case, the cubs would be selling, not buying as he said.

    i'm assuming this is a shot at the typical response when a cardinal fan bashes zambrano, but this is nothing like that. z doesn't punch people in the face. this is ridiculous. tavarez is one of the most classless individuals to ever play this game.

    certainly i'm not the only one that caught len's comment that the "starting infield" went to surprise to play the royals? i think i'm going to throw up if that's an accurate comment.
