  1. i still find it hard to believe that the number of people who care about watching the white sox is anywhere near those that care about watching the cubs - there's no way that's the reason
  2. mabry was still feeling the effects of the casey collision. he was available to pinch hit, but that's all.
  3. i don't see it..he's been prone to disaster starts for a while now. that, and we will have a full rotation (assuming slots are filled from within, which is a legitimate possibility). the rotation could end up being 5 of z/prior/hill/guzman/williams/marshall but could also include wood or miller if they're re-signed. i don't see hendry paying zito the big money he will cost.
  4. moron is usually more effective. inside joke you aren't inside on, it appears
  5. you realize you've been saying crap like this all through the spring and the season thusfar, right? why not just quit being so stubborn and admit that you just might be wrong? i realize that's difficult for you to do, but it's something to take into consideration.
  6. agreed after the stuff oswalt and berkman have pulled, it doesn't pain me at all to see the astros take a hit.
  7. haha, he's all they've got. after backe, their rotation drops off to the local community college pitching staff, basically. Exactly. So instead of pulling him for precaution, they keep him in for two batters that may end his season. That seems pretty desperate for April. yep - but you'd be desperate if you were houston, too ;)
  8. haha, he's all they've got. after backe, their rotation drops off to the local community college pitching staff, basically.
  9. hey, how's that dead horse? whatever number of runs dunn causes you to lose on defense, he more than makes up for it at the plate.
  10. funny story: in one of my classes yesterday, one white sox fan was telling another white sox fan the score of their game. he also mentioned that shelton hit another bomb. the guy immediately says "yeah, i agree with hawk on this one. that ball has to be juiced. no way a guy can have a start that hot." i asked him, "well, what about jim thome then?" he replied, "thome is just that good." apparently hawk has said that the ball is juiced ON THE AIR? i can't stand to listen to him for more than 10 seconds so obviously i haven't watched a white sox broadcast. that would be interesting.
  11. indeed - he solidifies their outfield for the next 3 years. (funny story - a cardinals fan friend of mine actually said those exact words to me once. i laughed.) I would have cried. well, i did. it was just tears from laughing so hard ;)
  12. braves and it isn't close
  13. neifi started game 3.
  14. Let's stop the Neifi hating. Everytime he's played he's done well. considering how well cedeno is doing? no, i will not stop the neifi hating.
  15. neifi batting ahead of cedeno? grrr.....
  16. Baker is a bad manager?? Based on what?? His multiple manager of the year awards and playoff appearances. baker IS a bad manager. he makes stupid decisions (in fairness to him, few this year). he has difficulty constructing lineups. he can't manage a pitching staff. he has a ridiculous veteran fetish. manager of the year awards don't mean a thing. that's like believing bobby abreu is actually a gold glover - it just isn't the case. and i wouldn't be measuring dusty based on playoff appearances. a [expletive] monkey could have managed the 2003 cubs into the playoffs, not to mention many of the giants teams with the best hitter in the history of baseball.
  17. that was an okay dugout...but there are so so so so so many more that have had me laughing way harder.
  18. i honestly can't see ramirez not opting out at the end of this season. the cubs will probably give him a 4 year deal if he does so, so opting out is just going to give him even more security than he already has.
  19. i dont think that's likely at all I think the Yanks and Sox would give him 5 and 80; I dunno about the Dodgers and O's. That's more per year than Beltran got 119/7 = 17 80/5 = 16
  20. Agreed. I look at his motion and think he's a Tommy John surgery waiting to happen. As opposed to Mark "Perfect Mechanics" Prior. you mean the mechanics that delayed any injury he would have until recently? it's been well reported that prior's mechanics are the reason he wasn't injured earlier in his career. perhaps you should read up on that.
  21. "lol things that have happened since the cubs won the world series last lol radio wuz invented so fans cud hear the cubs lose lol rofl"
  22. marshall and guzman pitched on the same day during the 1-hitter against the a's. they weren't sure who would be the one that would make the big league team yet. marshall was named the 4th starter before his appearance against the padres. he very likely would have gone longer if he didn't get demolished by them, which explains the lack of stamina.
