    Ohman is a commodity. I do that in a heartbeat. But then I need to dump Pierre. BTW, Michaels hits righties just fine. Lefties who can get outs in the late innings are more valuable the 4th OF (besides we have Mabry/Grissom/Restovich :roll: ) who would force Murton to the bench. Murton is a very similar player to Michaels, and the best things is....Murton is 7 yrs younger then Michaels. So while his numbers may look great, I don't buy into the Michaels hype. This is a player who couldn't BEAT OUT the likes such legendary players like Ledee, Chavez, Lofton, Byrd.... And no, I wouldn't do a Ohman for Michaels deal. Maybe Bartosh and Wellemeyer but not Will Ohman. Is Bartosh still on the 40 man? no, he was removed when sent to iowa last year.

    Per ESPN. 2005 Salary: $3,500,000 Toronto is picking up some of the salary. I think right around half of it. He's slated to make 6.25 this year and 6.75 next year with a 6.5 team option(with 500k buyout) for '08. The Brewers will pay only $4.25 million of the $11.6 million that Corey Koskie is owed over the next two years, according to the Toronto Sun. so milwaukee is only paying $2.125m per year for the next two for him. wow.

    Crap. Why not keep him on the bench, spot him into action once in a while to give Murton a break against some right handers, take a chance that he'll perform well and build his value up ahead of the trade deadline? because that would be the smart move. we've got to make room for marquis grissom to play way too much, you know.

    I think the surprise is the timing. Why now? Why not earlier in the offseason when Hendry had alot more payroll unaccounted for? Why wait until most of Hendy's available dollars have been spent? I'm not convinced he would have done it otherwise. I think a NTC might be at play here... how is this a 'surprise'? this clause has been well known to fans as well as Hendry. Prior deserves a raise, (if, for no other reason than Neifi is being paid 2.5M) and i certainly believe Hendry has planned for this scenario... Not to mention Rusch, Eyre, Howry, and Jones also making more than him. Isn't Mabry getting paid about that too? mabry is getting $1m

    i was at that game. that was the one start prior missed after coming off the DL, so i got to see cy rusch. i went out to my car to find a flat tire after the game, too. what a terrible day. i was very disappointed.

    zambrainless? wow, cardinal fans certainly have trouble coming up with nicknames, don't they? i really like not having to choose between these two. hopefully we don't have to when they near free agency. if forced, i'd choose prior, only because he's probably my favorite player in the majors.
