  1. wow. interesting - all i see is the box in the corner - who is it for?
  2. that stat - pinch hitters hit .195 for us last year - wow. thanks jose.
  3. how did nobody know about him being DFA`d when we got howry?
  4. I agree with you re: Wilkerson. He's a good ballplayer but I'll take Pierre the sure thing over all-or-nothing Wilkerson. I wasn't aware of Welly for Bigbie rumors, but why we haven't jumped all over that deal is beyond me. I can't remember now if it was Rotoworld or the rumors site, but I definitely recall seeing Welly for Bigbie mentioned. And yes, I think Bigbie would be a fine OF bench addition, and no, I do not think he would steal playing time from Murton. that rumor was on roto, so at least it could be considered legit.
  5. I'm thinking the Devil Rays would ask for Pie and other prospects, so the chances for a deal on Lugo aren't good. Marte wasn't enough to get Lugo - we shouldn't even ASK.
  6. good for him maybe it will help him out if he's close to home again
  7. i hate the people that run this club. ugh.
  8. pierre has been below average in CF since 2003. Rate: 2003: 91 2004: 93 2005: 96 at least he's "improving" hopefully that goes a lot higher with a move to wrigley.
  9. getting kind of sick of hearing the mets involved in every trade rumor
  10. ughhhhhhhhh please return to 370 obp juan pierre please?
  11. they'll want this trade done by tomorrow night, right? since that's the deadline to offer arbitration and the dodgers don't want to offer it to bradley...
  12. Walker is a better player, but the fact of the matter is that the Dodgers don't need a guy with his skill set, considering they'll have Furcal/Izturis/Kent covering SS/2B/1B once Izturis returns.
  13. who is pretty much useless to the dodgers, as he'd become a bench player once izturis returns.
  14. a random, non-prospect apparently.
  15. According to KXTV in Sacramento: The Dodgers have traded Milton Bradley to the A's for pitchers Kirk Saarloos and Mario Ramos. so a bunch of nothing? certainly the cubs could have made a better offer....
  16. don't forget that he grew his hair out
  17. It's already rumored that they will offer Marte straight up for Lugo once Furcal signs (so, Monday).
  18. Juan Encarnacion, 4/24, here we come!!!!!!
  19. I'd rather just use Cedeno at this point.
  20. I suppose Hawkins was considered "top notch" when the Cubs signed him, but that's all I can think of.
  21. Neither am I. I've wanted Cedeno to be SS since the offseason began. I don't think Furcal was worth $10M per year -- let alone $13M. I agree to a point here - I don't want Furcal at $10m+ - but I wouldn't mind seeing Nomar re-signed for a year. If that isn't happening, I'm all for starting Cedeno at SS. The problem with that plan is that I can't imagine Dusty actually doing it, especially with another rookie (Murton) starting. Looks like we might see a lot of Neifi again in 2006.... A fair point, but Cedeno is simply better than Perez. Playing a lesser player is grounds for firing, in my book. And you shouldn't have to craft a roster so as to prevent the bizarre use of players like Hollandsworth and (potentially) Perez. In the theoretical world where the choices are Cedeno and Perez for SS, Hendry needs to make it clear that Cedeno is the guy. Not Perez. If Dusty doesn't and plays Perez instead, he needs to be let go. I agree completely - if Cedeno and Neifi are the two SS we carry, Cedeno better be the starter. If he isn't, Dusty isn't using an optimal lineup (what else is new?), which should certainly be grounds for firing - not that Dusty hasn't deserved to be fired for years now.
