Cubs ticket prices will rise again next season for all price levels and seating categories, while the number of higher-priced "prime'' dates also will increase because of additional night games

This probably should be expected, but after a dissapointing season, I'm not sure this sends the right message.

Hopefully fans will send the right message by taking a lot longer to buy up tickets.

Every bit of news this offseason has been great so far. This one temps me less to spend money on the Cubs next year if the offseason continues the way it has.

Hmm..after a very dissapointing season, you raise ticket prices?

That makes no sense. I really hope the 2006 budet is above the 2005 budget, or else this is a very stupid, greedy move.

The Cubs are already going to draw millions more from the new seats, so they shouldn't raise prices on the rest of them.

But I guess somebody has to pay Neifi's contract.

The message as I see it is: As long as the fans keep filling the stadium every year, despite what we put on the field, we'll keep raising the prices - we're a business and we need to make as much money as we can.

I understand why...baseball is a business, and a businesses will find the supply/demand equilibrium that makes it the most profit.

Exactly. Under Hendry's watch they have filled over a million seats more over the last 3 years while raising prices. I saw tons of Cubs fans at games in LA and SD. The Cubs are still a hot item and there is almost no way they don't sell out most tickets in the first day or two on sale.

Between this, the season last year, and the offseason so far, I am really close to boycotting the Cubs all together next year. The only thing that is making me think of buying tickets is the fact that I love to watch a Cubs game at Wrigley.

I did it four years ago and it feels really good.

I know there's somebody ready to take my place, but it makes me feel a little better.

I don't know why but the whole "Wrigley" experience doesn't mean a lot to me anymore. A World Series title is more important to me and I won't go back until I feel the effort is being made toward that goal.

It is still nice to go there. I like the experience, but I'd trade the Wrigley experience for a title in an instant.

I believe the disturbing price increase is for bleacher seats into the $40 range. That's pretty steep if you want to take your family.

I don't know if there is a site or information about how Wrigley seating is broken down-how many total seats in each category. That would give all of us an idea what kind of potential $$$ would make for attendance alone.

You guys are missing the point, the Cubs had an incredibly disapointing year in which they underachieved. They are adding nearly 2,000 seats for the first time in decades, and they Still are raising prices.

I am a season ticket holder. Hence, my screen name. But I am not renewing the tickets this year if they don't make some MAJOR noise this offseason.

Last I checked, there's a list of 3000+ waiting for you to non-renew.

I called at the beginning of last season to check my place in line.

I would not be the least bit surprised to see that the line is much, much shorter now.

From my season ticket renewal letter dated 11/16/05:

"Our Season Ticket base is at its maximum limit. We currently have a waiting list exceeding 7,000 to purchase season tickets. We need to know your intentions by December 15."

For season ticket holders: How do you find time to go to all the games? Or do you just sell off the tickets you can't use?

I feel like an idiot for asking this, but I've always wondered how people manage it.

Wow. Guess I'll eat that crow.
