IMO this is the most wide open field of 65 that I can remember. I don't think any team is so dominate that they will just blow teams out and take the trophy and I wouldn't be surprised if a 6 seed or higher wins it all.

Same here. Syracuse has shown that Connecticut is vulnerable. Texas plays in a weak conference. Certainly Duke and Nova can be beat. Theres no Illinois or UNC from last year. I could see a low seed just being on fire and making a huge run this year.

In the Big West tourney in Anaheim, Long Beach State makes a crazy 3 from the left corner as the buzzer to defeat UC Irvine. CSULB advances to meet Pacific in the Big West final.

Didn't that happen last night?

Ahh, so it did. My local news made it feel like it just happened.

I have to say that while Jim Boeheim was already high on my list of top college coaches, his outburst at the press conference after the Cincy game that he might be my favorite coach now. He seems to be more mild-mannered than most college coaches these days, yet here was a time when his best player was coming under unfair criticism, and Boeheim showed some fire and dropped a few expletives at the press conference. I really respect the X's and O's aspect of Boeheim's coaching, but even more than that, he went outside of his personality to stick up for a guy who has been a consistent contributor to his team for four solid years. Syracuse won't win the NCAA tourney, but I will be rooting for them, and in large part this will be due to their underappreciated coach.

Boeheim is likable enough, although he probably whines about the officiating more than any college coach I've seen. He does seem very affable though, especially on his semiregular appearances on PTI.

Why wasn't that an intentional foul on Duke? The Duke kid pushes the Wake kid and doesn't make a play on the ball in any way.

You do know that Duke basically gets whatever calls they want, right? There have been many worse than that.

My favorite is when J.J. Redick, The Biggest Prick Known to Man, can't find a good shot to take, so he just dribbles it into the fray in the paint and haphazardly lobs the ball in the air. Since he's such a good shooters, the refs go, "well, he must have been fouled," and they call it on somebody. Drives me nuts. That and Shelden Williams' elbows.

Of course, I am a little biased. And not just a little upset about losing to Boston College. UNC has had trouble putting it together in the ACC tournament recently.

South Carolina can't score to save their lives right now. 15-4 Florida after 10 minutes, but one of South Carolina's baskets came on a long jumper turned alley-oop layup.

Well, now they hit a fast break layup. 15-6.

You'd take Redick in the 'Heels backcourt in a heartbeat :P

Well, I hope BC can come back and win this game. A good day for me would be BC, Texas, and Ohio State all winning today. I really don't care who wins the SEC, but I wouldn't mind South Carolina.

How have you made it this far in life without ever watching a Duke game?

Call me crazy, but no I wouldn't. Yeah, he's a great player, but I credit the team and the coach for his success more than his own natural ability. That team is constructed to give J.J. the ball as often as possible. When he has a bad night, he still scores 20 points because he takes so many shots - plus the free throws. I don't like a team structured that way. And I fully expect him to be a flop in the NBA, because the only thing he does really, really well is shoot. Plus, he's a prick. I love to see him go into a school like Temple, who is barely a division I team, and still taunt the fans.

Yes, he'd make the Heels better, but I still hate him, and I don't want him.

Plus, his poetry (yes, he writes poetry) sucks.
