I just wish we could get Pac 10 games on tv here. When the Cubs switched to Comcast, our cable affiliate dropped FSN. I used to love watching those late night Pac 10 games on Thursday nights.

The Pac 10 (and Big 12) NEEDS a better tv deal in football and basketball. The lack of exposure they get is insane for a power conference.

Yes, many UCLA folk I know are pretty pissed about the basketball coverage - they're worried over the lack of coverage a big name recruit outside of California will see.

UCLA up 20-8 with 8:50 left in the first.

UCLA up 38-27 at the half. They had fouls to give to end the half, but let Oregon State take a half court 3-point shot at the buzzer and drill it. :x

Cedric Bozeman has a hurt ankle, getting x-rays taken. This is a huge injury if he's out for anytime.

Bye Bye Wooldrige. KSU Loses, Wooly Fired. He was a class act who just couldn't get it done in close games. Good Luck Jim! Bring on Bob Huggins!

Sorry I misread, I thought you said just a #1 seed, not overall. UConn probably did lose it. The conference tourneys work both ways. Cincinatti and Seton Hall were both thought to be in, and now after losing to Syracuse and Rutgers respectively, they're talked about as bubble teams. It gives the big conference teams one last chance to play their way in, but it also gives them one last chance to play their way out. I have no problem giving teams a lot of chances to do it on the court as much as possible rather than having to play it out in the committee's minds.

I hate how now a deserving Valley team who played a tough out of conference schedule will probably get left out because Syracuse, who plays no road games every year in the preconference finally decided to start playing.

What about having the 6th toughest schedule in the country or playing the top 2 teams in the nation 5 times and maybe 6 if they go on to play Villanova? Plus, how did they just start playing and have 21 wins? And if anyone thinks UConn didn't care you are very wrong. They hate losing to us with a passion and think they own the BE. People look at one of those Valley teams if they play 3 teams in the top 25 they get all kinds of praise for playing a tough schedule but Syracuse plays 1/3 of thier games against top 25 teams and gets criticized for playing teams outside the conference in the Dome? I could also see it if the Valley teams had 1-6 lossses but they have even more playing in an average to slightly better than average conference with easy games in the bottom half which the BE, other than SFlor, doesn't have.

FSU and Michigan both losing gives hope to the bubble teams dismayed by GW's failure and Syracuse's success.

Both are out if it were up to me. Michigan's done, without my say-so. FSU is probably one of the last teams in at best.

Michigan's resume is much better than Syracuse's, and especially FSU's. Even with today's loss. Main question will be what sticks in the minds of the committee tonight and tomorrow while they pick the field.

IMO the committee is pretty good about keeping emotion out of the equation.

Quincy Douby has 15 points for Rutgers in the first 10 minutes against Nova, including what was probably a 30 footer just a moment ago. 19-16 Rutgers.

that was an amazing shot.

good start to this game so far.

X-rays negative for Cedric Bozeman, they're saying it's a sprained ankle but he has a boot on. Hopefully Cedric will be ready for the NCAA tournament.

A shade under 8 minutes left, UCLA is now up 63-35.

EDIT: And Lorenzo Mata - who started at C for half the year until he broke his leg in January - makes his first apperance since the injury!!

He's a very good player that most people have never heard of.

That injury (sprained ankle) is a tough one to come back from. GMac had one last year that he never could shake off.

Rutgers, St. John's, Providence, and DePaul are all worse than the top 6 in the Valley.

But are they worse than the bottom 4?

I'd say Indiana St could give any of those teams a run, but the other 3 (Drake, Evansville, Illinois St.) really aren't that impressive and probably would lose to those teams.

Well that'll do it for this horrendous Mizzou season, because I'm gonna assume we aren't making the Not Important Tournament. Here we go baseball.

Not to hi-jack this thread a bit, but since you mentioned Mizzou, are they still keeping Pinkel around for the 2006 Missouri Football?

Cal beats USC by 15 to advance to the semifinals. Leon Powe had 22 points and 20 boards.

Oregon pulls off the upset, 84-73. Chamberlain Uguchi had all 22 of his points in the second half, including 6 three pointers. They were down by 14 with about 10 minutes left and they went the last 30 minutes of the game without their idiot PG who got ejected!

Tomorrow:

(4) Arizona vs. (1) UCLA

(7) Oregon vs. (3) Cal

Arizona will be without Hasaan Adams (drunk driving) and Oregon will be without PG Aaron Brooks (suspended for tomorrow's game for his intentional elbow/ejection in today's game).
