Was Kareem Rush there for the 20 best Mizzou players thing they did at halftime? I only caught the very end where Norm Stewart walked out.

KSU at MU today... both teams have assistants coaching. Could be interesting.

did I miss something? Where's Wooly?

He had neck surgery I believe.

Correct. We SUCK in close games, and suck even worse on the road.

BSU loses in double OT to Miami 67-63. All in all, not much different from the eleventy billion other heartbreaking losses between the Irish and Ball State.

kansas has only shot 21 more free throws than iowa state today. that seems about right.

Might have something todo with the fact ISU has no post game and thus shoots a lot of jumpers. (They're one of the worst teams in the Big 12 w/ regards to getting to the line). Conversely, KU has plenty of bigs to toss it down to, adn they also penetrate more, which is why they shoot more FT.

iowa state's offense is completely dependent on penetration. blaylock and stinson taking to the rim is their whole offense. they do chuck a lot of threes, but those mostly come from penetration or the threat of penetration.

Rumor has it that Beilein of WVU is very interested in the Mizzou job, according to local TV. Apparently he has family ties to the area.

No better time to get a ton of cash than now when the fire is hot. I just don't see him leaving a top 15 team for all the problems Missou is having and is going to have.

There's not really any problems at Mizzou aside from W/L(not to say that it's not important, but it's not like Mizzou is facing a 23049 year posteason ban). WVU is also only bringing back one player next year that averages more than 5 minutes a game. He's probably not the number one guy I'd pick, but I'd be excited if Beilein came here. The team would be fun to watch.

EDIT: 2 players averaging more than 5 minutes a game. They combine for 11.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.

Since Quinn Snyder has made his resignation official, thus in need of a job, and IU at least should truly be looking for another coach, I will even gladly throw in Sean Kline or Donnie Marsh as compensation for Quinn.

Hey ndistops, how is Pat Nelson doing? He's from my town and was an absolute joke here because of his soft play. I saw he was getting playing time but getting no points or boards.

That pretty much sums up his time here so far too. He is a lockdown defender but is pretty much useless offensively or on the boards. He wouldn't be playing if Tom Howland could play defense or had any post presence, or if Charles Bass didn't have a Torin Francis-esque inability to finish inside or could avoid foul trouble. This BSU team is completely lacking at the forward positions.

Villanova proved themselves to me. I've been telling anybody who'd listen how they weren't a legit team and that UConn would sweep in these coming weeks. Shame that but for some awful ACC refereeing that they'd take over the #1 spot.

They were my National Championship pick at the beginning of the year, making me look smart right now.

They haven't convinced me that much. I could see a final 4 run, but they're too 3 reliant without the D to support off nights.

maybe they wont be when Sumpter gets back.

I read rumors Sumpter may sit out and redshirt the year.

Did you wtch the game? OIutside of fast breaks and a few times the help d didn't rotate, ISU rarely took it to the rack. Mostly jumpshots or mid-range pull ups. Also, ISU missed the front end of a a few one and ones, which hurt their FT total.

And again, ISU shoots fewer FTs than almost any team in the league. They're a jumpshooting team, despite Stinson and Blaylock's ability to penetrate.

There is some major controversy going on in Columbia right now with regards to the Quin situation. Several players are claiming that Quin didn't just resign, but was forced out. The owner of Harpo's (a local bar that has been a student favorite for decades) has kicked radio talk shows "Tiger Talk" and "The Mike Alden Show" out of his bar in light of the recent events. This is gonna get ugly and there's probably zero chance that Thomas Gardner comes back next year. Read more at the link below if you're interested.

Can Gardner transfer? He'd have to be really really upset to choose the NBDL over the new coach.

I don't know how the eligibility thing works, but he'll be a senior next year so I'd imagine he'd have to sit out a year if he wanted to transfer. I expect him to enter the NBA draft.

That would be a terrible decision on his part.

I don't know about that. Mizzou basketball will likely blow next year. He's having his best season and he's being talked about on a national level. I think it'd be wise for him to leave after this season.
