Argh, West Virginia beat UCLA at Pauley 60-56. :( Didn't get to see the game, gonna breeze by it now on TiVo.

Gansey is a beast, that's all you need to know.

The good: UCLA nearly came all the way back from a 20-pt deficit.

The bat: Farmar getting stolen in the backcourt down 3 with less than 10 seconds.

It's another disappointing close loss at Pauley to a ranked team. And another close loss at Pauley on Saturday. I don't care if Mata, Fey, Shipp, and Bozeman are out - this is disappointing.

Big game for Mizzou tonight against KSU. Laugh if you must, but 4-1 in the conference would be unbelievable for this team. That said, I predict KSU wins by probably 10.

I'm hoping your prediction is right. Probably not though, cuz we've never won 3 straight Big 12 games.

wow, good day! Three unbeatens lose!

simply awesome. Today just proved that there is no one clear-cut favorite to win it all this year.

I think thats exactly right. tennessee has two great wins so far this year.

Not a good game at all for Mizzou. Gardner had a poor shooting night, struggling to get open looks and then having an off shooting night when he did get them. A poor defensive showing all around as well. I was also less than pleased when Cartier Martin stepped on Gardner's face after Gardner had been laying on the ground for 10 secs after play stopped and Cartier decided to go through the pile en route to the K-State bench. All in all Mizzou didn't have it tonight, they got outplayed and hopefully it's just a blip on the radar with ISU at home Wednesday.

No talkin sh** on Gardner, but Cartier may be the most important/BEST player in the Big 12. Look at the little number of shots he takes to get his numbers, along with the rebounding #'s he's posting on a VERY undersized team. Hoskins will be the next Jeramiah Massey! Inconsistent #'s in his first year in the conference, but potentially BIG numbers. We will be VERY good next year with our big man coming in next year! Hope we can continue to play good team Bball this year with our much undersized team!

Oh, tournament could go to anyone right now. And I do agree with what you said about Brown. If he has an off night, they are a beatable team. I think the team that everyone needs to watch out for in the Big Ten is Ohio State. Everyone's beating each other up at the top, they could do some serious damage. The Big East will be a crapshoot. The problem with having that many powerhouses in the same conference is that they all have to play each other. A lot of losses will pile up, but that conference will be ready for NCAA tournament play.

I don't agree with that. Everyone's not beating each other at the top currently (although they probably will in the long run). IU right now has quality conf wins vs. Illinois, OSU, and Michigan (all 2 loss teams), by holding up their home court. Ohio St. has a home loss already, that's gonna be huge. They still have to go to Iowa, MSU, Michigan and UW. I think they can do damage in the tourney with their experience, but they will finish no higher than 5th in the league this season.

I hate Duke! The big east looks awesome. Although illinois did beat georgetown handily.

I know what you're saying that Illinois beat Georgetown, but please don't tell me you're one of those people that thinks Illinois is better than Duke this year. I have a friend that has been calling everyone he knows saying Duke should be ranked behind Illinois right now.

hard to say who is better - I think Illinois could beat Duke when they play well. That is, Duke is far from great and is beatable (obviously). Illinois hasn't been too impressive lately but is good enough to be dangerous. I wouldn't argue they should be ranked ahead of Duke though.

It's just my opinion, but I think that Illinois, like Louisville this year, is one of the most overrated teams around. They can be dangerous if they get hot, but Georgetown just showed that they have the same power. I haven't watched too many Illinois games this year, but from the few that I have seen, it looks like just a two man game with Brown and Augustine. And Iowa showed how to shut that down.

I don't know if Florida has played a tough enough schedule to take over number one right now. And UConn and Nova have lost recently, so I don't see either of them making the jump. I think that Duke will hang on to the #1 ranking, but just barely. As of this week, they have every first place vote in the AP poll, and all but one in the coaches poll.

You do know that Illinois beat that Georgetown team by 15 right?

It's all about matchups IMO. The Princeton Offense worked against Duke.

IMO that is because Duke cant defend. I am sick and tired of hearing about how Shelden Williams is so great on D. Killingsworth careered on him, the kid from NC State careered on him, then Green did the same. If he was so great on D he should be able to hold his own against these guys. Duke is almost more of a 1 man team than Illinois is. They just all stand around and watch JJ play.

After watching the replay of the game, a player came off the Mizzou bench and kind of shoved Cartier into Gardner causing the stepping on of the face.

when illinois shoots horribly, they still have the defense to keep them in games, that's what separates them from Duke.

against iowa, illinois just missed shots. they faced the same type of defensive aggressiveness that is indicative of Big Ten basketball and they shot poorly. dee brown, rich mcbride, and jamar smith ALL missed several wide open threes each. iowa is a lesser defensive team than MSU, yet the illini won at home against the spartans. it goes to show what kind of advantage you get in the BT when you're listed second on the matchup box.

illinois lost to iowa at CARVER, not in champaign, i suspect the illini will win big on 2/25 at the AH. subsequently, the illini were edegd out by a very good hoosier team in bloomington, which i suspect will be an illini victory on 2/19 in champaign.

Did anyone see Adam Haluska of Iowa state that even after yesterday's game that Iowa felt they were better than MSU. This is right after MSU beat them by 30 points. It maybe how you feel Adam, but that probably isn't the best time to say it.
