well, Illinois has about the worst non-conference schedule I've ever seen.

well what about Kansas who doesn't play a road game. Well I guess they are in the maui invitational, but come on Billf try to get the freshman ready for roadtrips into OU and OSU.

Self Doesn't make the schedule, the AD does.

Regardless of where our games are played, we have a pretty tough schedule.

In Maui, we'll play #9 Arizona, then #2 UCONN or Arkansas (probably Arkansas). Our noncon also includes St. Joe's in NY, Cal in KC, and #25 Nevada and #10 Kentucky in Lawrence.

Keep in mind, our the avg. age of our players is about 12.

Anyway, I wouldn't expect to see KU take too many non-con road trips in the near future, unless it's against a premier team. Our AD is really money focused, and there's too much money to be lost playing mediocre teams on the road. Kind of lame, but I guess that's the way things are now.

your young guys, rush in particular looked pretty damn good against Fort Hayes. He gets whatever shot he wants which is an NBA player already.

Those are the key words in that sentence. But by all accounts, Rush was impressive. It should be an exciting season for us, although full of struggles and probably a few bad losses. (OU, UT, Zona, probably UK.)

illinois playing at UNC would probably be harder if UNC hadn't lost it's top 7 scorers from last year. They are struggling to just field a team right now, and will be VERY young.

Yes and we lost 5 of our top 7 so I guess it evens out. I think that Roy will have them pumped up and decent for one year until they reload in a big way.

Texas gets #1 Duke in NYC, #12 Memphis in Memphis and #4 Villanova in Austin. Should be a good test for a younger team.

I will renew my plea for Duke to take back Michael Thompson. He was sooo bad last night. Couldn't rebound, couldn't hit a layup, and even missed a dunk. Thankfully he was pulled for Vince Scott by the 2nd half.

For some reason Cote only played 3 minutes last night, but he's been impressive in practices. He has the outside shot that the team needs and will compliment Sterling Williams' defense well, I hope. With that said, this team looks like they're going to replicate last year's mediocrity. If they make the NIT, it'll be close.

Thank goodness for Vedran, though...

As I said in the other thread, Boston is doing much better than better teams have fared in Cameron. In other news, it only took me a couple minutes to not be able to stand McRoberts, Duke's freshman bigman. 19-18 BU, 8 mins left in the first half. Mizzou tips off against Sam Houston State momentarily.

Duke's up 40-26 with 32.8 seconds left in the 1st half. So much for that upset possibility.

And CPatt, I would assume that you dislike McRoberts because of that stupid "it counts" move he did after he scored that 2 and the foul to make it 16-14 BU? I hated that too. You don't pull that crap when you're losing to a vastly inferior team at home.

Among other things. He's taken to the Duke appearance of conceit quite well.

Vedran puts up 28 as the Wildcats upset Charlotte 61-47 in the 2nd round of the BCA invitational. Didn't expect that...

Miss TJ Parker much? Where is he?

In what sense?

TJ is on the Paris Basket Racing team over in France. I'm guessing he's enjoying sitting next to Eva at Spurs games during his free time.

The team is pissed that he left, but he's not really going to be missed on the court. Michael Jenkins can run the offense just as well as TJ did.

Mizzou loses to Sam Houston State at home. I'm glad I had a test so that I didn't waste my time attending, or watching more than part of the first half.

Ouch. What happened to Mr. Quin? :P

Oh, poor Quin.

Having watched an equal portion of that game and the Boston/Duke game, I'm pretty sure Boston would've beaten Mizzou by 20 tonight.

Well, I am not going to be attending the kU game and the Texas game. I really chose not to watch crap basketball. Quin Snyder is a terrible coach, but hey, no reason for Alden to fire him. Man, I really am sick of Mizzou sports.

At least I now have a good comeback whenever a Mizzou guy says "Bucknell" to me.

Not really, Bucknell beat you in the tournament. I think "Belmont" might be a better comeback anyways.

Let me go on record as saying I freaking despise Quin Snyder.

Not fair. You guys never get to the tournament.

Hey we made the NIT... oh wait, you mean the REAL tournament. Yeah, well, uhh, Quin's been too busy paying players and having sex with high school girls to actually make our team competitive.

Awesome, both ESPN2 and ESPN2 Alternate are carrying the Bowling Green - Miami, Ohio football game, rather than the New Mexico State - UCLA basketball game.

You can throw out the record books when Bowling Green meets Miami, OH.

I'd like to throw them at the folks who work at ESPN2, but thankfully, the UCLA game is on. Go Bruins!

UCLA wins it 83-70. :) Sophomore Arron Afflalo was a beast, redshirt senior Cedric Bozeman looked good, the freshmen (outside of the most hyped one - Wright) have looked good. Still no inside presence on offense.

And Steve Lavin predicted UCLA would win the Pac-10 at halftime. I have Stanford finishing ahead of UCLA.
