(5) Miami @ (3) Virginia Tech

I can't wait for this game. I expect a classic. Of course lately those have become commonplace for Miami-VT.

Right. That and PSU vs. WISC are pretty much conference title games. ACC has a title game though this year, right?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves... PSU, even if they win, has to travel to East Lansing to face the Spartans. Their laid egg against Northwestern notwithstanding, they've proven in the games against ND, Michigan and Ohio State that they are at least competitive with good teams.

True, but if PSU wins, they will still have just 1 loss (along with OSU, who looks to beat the snot out of the Illini). Even if PSU were to lose to MSU, they still hold the tiebreaker over NU, OSU and WISC for 2 loss teams. If PSU wins Saturday, the only thing that would screw them up is if they lost to MSU and OSU won out.

And just so everyone knows, the OSU-UM game is at UM this year. You know what that means ref-wise don't you?

why don't you capitalize the k in KU? Is that supposed to be a diss or something?

Here at Mizzou, we've come to the conclusion that kU is not worthy of capitalization.

I am very worried about the ND/Tenn game. Tenn is not as bad as their record show IMO and have a very solid D. I said before the season started that this will be a game ND will lose. I still think they may. I will be there so I sure hope not, but I could easily see it happening.

well NIU can't afford to put up any more duds for the rest of the year. Real simple..if they win their final 3, they're in the MAC Championship game. If they lose either this week to Central Mich or in 2 weeks to Toledo, our season will be a complete failure and we won't even make a bowl game.

so hopefully good NIU shows up and they beat Central Michigan this week.

Haha, sorry we had to do it to ya.

BSU plays at home against Akron this week, a tough but winnable game. A victory would put the Cards at .500 in the MAC with two Directional Michigan games left. :D

I think you guys just don't understand the rules.

Speaking of Big XII schools and language...okay I just wanted an excuse to post this pic.

Hahah, well I have nothing to compare with the disappointed Truman (he spoke for all of us), so all I have is a lowercase "k" ;-)

Why is Penn State favored by 10.5 points against Wisc? If this game is about determining the Big Ten champ why is the spead so huge? Penn State 3.5 maybe but 10.5. No way.

I was just about to post this. Wisconsin has the #1 scoring offense in the conference. Do oddsmakers put PSU's defense as being that good? Or do they expect the Lions to win 50-40?

It's funny, our students newspapers have even taken on the idea of not capitalizing the k in kU.

That is a pretty good picture you have in your sig, but I don't know if it tops the one that I used to have of the two kU basketball players where one was bent over.

That one was pretty funny. I saw a similar one with a mizzou player in the same position with a KU player. I wasn't sure who exactly was being insulted if I posted that, so I just left it alone.

You forgot to add that KU has a semi-realistic chance to break it's 36-year-long losing streak to Nebraska.

Sorry, don't knowhow I missed that one

no need for sarcasm.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I was actually apologizing

I was just kidding. And no need for apologies. There's no reason for a KU football game to be on anyone's radar unless they're opponent is good, and the 'Huskers aren't waht they used to be.

A couple of quick things I think ND is going to beat Tenn. May be close for a little bit but ND will pull away.

I agree how come Penn St is a 10 1/2 point favorite. I am calling my bookie. If I had one

I already did.

Does anyone know if it opened up at 10.5

Also I am not so sure about ND. Tenn has given up only 3 passing TD's all year, and they are a couple of turnovers away from being a top 10 team IMO. I think the game will be close, and ND may not be able to pull this one out. I definately love Tennessee at +8 1/2, but I can never bet against ND.

It opened at 9. Now it is 11.5. Everyone must have hopped on PSU so it has moved to get suckers like me to jump on Wisconsin.

Just wanted to post this for anyone who is interested, which I know most of you probably aren't.

So far the Notre Dame offense has set 17 offensive records. They are:

Pass Completions in a game- 33 (tied; Quinn vs. MSU)

Consecutive Games with a TD Pass - 12 (Quinn)

Consecutive Game with a TD Reception - 7 (Samardzija)

Consecutive Game with a TD Pass to start a season - 7 (Samardzija)

Consecutive 100-yd. rushing game to begin season - 4 (Walker)

Consecutive games throwing over 300 yards - 4 (Quinn)

Single-season touchdown passes - 20 (Quinn)

Heisman Watch Position:

Other than Leinart's making the plays he had to make against ND (which is an iffy argument because Quinn also made the plays he had to make in that game), why should this be the case? :?

Look at USC's record compared to ND's. The Heisman is no longer about the best player, it is about the best player on the best team.

Who is that?

That guy in my sig.

Drew Olson leads all 3 QBs in TDs, INTs, comp %, leads Quinn in QB rating but is last amongst those 3 in passing yards. And he easily has the worst receiving crew of the bunch.
