I hate the Astros, Cardinals, and Sox. Since my dad is a Cards fan I'm rooting for them. The Sox are my backup if the Astros make it.

Houston. I have some family in Houston who have taken me to a few Astros games, and that is the only thing I can think of too make me root for any team.

It really trying to pick the lesser of two evils (or three for now)

What a terrible choice... I can'[t stand White Sox fans but the team ain't that bad and I like Ozzie Guillen. The Astros fans i could care less about (just another expansion city no baseball knowledge fanbase -generally speaking- not as bad as whatever they call the Marlins fanbase) but I hate the Astros team themselves. Cards I can't stand, both the fans and there team.

So adding it up I'd have to go for the hometown White Sox.. barely. Astros are annoying. And the Cards NO friggin WAY!

I can't stand Pujols, even though he is probably the greatest Cardinal since Musial. And if he keeps it uo for another 8-10 years, maybe best position player ever (at least of our generation). Gah.. and hes a Card.

Wow. I don't see how Pujols can't be liked. Even as a Cubs fan I have to admit he's one of my favorite players. He is everything you could want from a player and a person. Seeing the story ESPN ran on him a while back about him and the down syndrome kids sealed the deal for me.

I don't PERSONALLY hate him, I just hate him because HE IS SO GOOD and plays for my most HATED team. I always look at Pujols as a Sosa if he had a brain. Pujols even mentions copying the bat speed and contact style of Sosa as an influence on his swing.... gah...

Yeah he's a good player, works hard, and isn't an idiot. but still... hes a friggin Cardinal!

I don't care much for Pujols walking to first on homers, or him being a Cardinal, but after reading about how he is off the field, I find it difficult to hate him, and I don't think he is a juicer like Mac and Sosa.

I'm rooting for the Cardinals, mainly because they have the best chance to beat the Sox and I do NOT want to hear about a White Sox title all winter.

I'm rooting for the Sox. It's good for Chicago and respect around the nation.

But besides that, I still don't like Oswalt after his incident with Barrett and the Cards are our biggest and long-time rival.

I know I'm supposed to hate the Cardinals, but I have a lot of respect for their franchise and their history. The Cubs-Cards rivalry has usually been a friendly one.

The Astros fans are so unbearable I will relish them blowing it if the Cards come back. Loudmouth Texans who know very little about the game of baseball, and only watch to see if Clemens will go into a roid rage and bean someone. Their stadium isn't a bandbox, it's a toy box, and if they still played at the Astrodome they wouldn't be in the playoffs right now.

I would even root for the White Sox over the Astros, if only to see a Chicago team win the title, build the pressure on Baker and Cubs management to the boiling point, and watch the rest of the bandwagon jumpers in Texas immediately forget about the Astros and go back into football mode for the next 11 months.

White Sox... Frank Thomas deserves a ring

Cardinals... Larry Walker deserves a ring

Astros... Bagwell/Biggio deserves a ring

are there 3 teams we would like to see LESS? So it is kinda in reverse order from Worst to Least Worst

Sox - Sure I am a cubbies guy, but I have some love for many of the sox teams over the years, and Bill Veeck. So they are my least worst

Cards - I grew up HATING the cards of the 60's/70's and 80's. They just beat us and beat us good. God I hated playing in that concrete tomb. At least they are a midwestern team and TRULY love their cards. That being said, I hate them LESS than...

Houston - I hate texas. I hate their fans. I resent all the CR*P that has come out of texas in the last couple of decades (texas school board/The Bushes/Enron/Delay, etc. etc.) like the rest of the country doesn't matter. There are some guys I like on the team, but that isn't enough to save them in my eyes.

So, yeah. These are the 3 teams I would like to see least in this position, but I gotta root for the home town team. Maybe if they win it will light a fire under the cubs leadership (maybe?)

I really liked Pujols at first, but he is really disrespectful with the way he stands and watches his homers now. He wasn't like that when he came up, but has developed that habit over time. I don't care for it any more than I cared Sosa's stupid hop. Plus, he's a Cardinal. It is every Cub fan's birthright to hate any Cardinal.

Ya, he's a great player, but.....

He's been disrespectful watching his homers for a while now. Do you remember when Gary Bennett confronted him about it? He's been doing that for a couple years now, and it is tacky.

Yes, I do remember that. All the Cardinal fans were immediately coming to his defence and calling Bennett bush and what-not.....

If I was pitching, I would put Pujols on his arse if he did that to me or one of my teammates. More than once, if needed.

you really want stros fans to have a leg up on us now? i'll root for the cards, at least their bragging rights over us extend so far back that most of us can't remember when they began. houston, what have they won? if the cards win, it;s just another world championship and another pebble on the mountain.

if the stros win, it's a big fat asteroid falling on our collective heads.

Really?

And the Astros celebrating like they had won the pennant after Game 4, and again after the Berkman homer last night, and again with 2 outs in the 9th last night................. that's not disrespectful?

What's the difference between Pujols walking trotting to first base and Berkman clapping and dancing around first base?

Nothing, really, and I never said there was. We were talking about Pujols watching his homers, not the Astros over-celebration.
