i gotta say...it wouldn't bother me one bit to see the white sox win. think of the pressure that would be put on hendry, the trib and the cubs. the white sox follow the red sox in ending really long dry spells...everyone would be looking at the cubs to get their act together.

of course, that may lead to some stupid, rash decisions, so maybe that's not for the best.

The result would be the team to get all sorts of "small ball" guys. That's the result of a WS World Series.

Dear god no.

I don't know about that. Hendry is definitely trying his hardest and doing what he thinks is best - obviously many of us don't agree with him. I don't see what help the Sox winning will do.

Gotta love the Angels winning despite playing in 3 different stadiums the past 3 days, traveling through 4 different airports, flying approximately 5000 miles and getting 3 hours of sleep last night. :)

LHP Jarrod Washburn (8-8, 3.20 ERA), who had a throat infection will make his 2005 playoff debut against LHP Mark Buehrle (Regular Season: 16-8, 3.12 ERA; ALCS: 1-0, 5.14 ERA, 7 IP).

Game time weather: 62°F, Cloudy/Sprinkles, 30% chance of precipitation.

Broadcast note: The game might be on FX in certain areas, especially where the Astros and Cardinals are the regional team.

GO ANGELS!

McCarver with another classic by saying Vlad has no RBI with the screen saying RBI: 1.

I don't want the Sox to win, but I think they just got royally screwed on that call.

I looked up midway through the replay, but the little I saw looked like they made the right call. It shouldn't have been close though, you have to be pretty stupid to venture that far off second on a line drive to left.

Unless Crede totally missed the bag, it sure looked like he was safe. The glove was still coming down and you could clearly see the ball in the glove when Crede hand was at the base. But there was enough dirt flying up to wonder if he got to the bag.

The super slo-mo replay right after the play actually happened showed that Crede was out. Cub-esque baserunning there.

By the way, a quick word about the umpiring in this series...it has been fantastic. Consistent strike zones, all the close calls in the basepaths being called correctly...rarely do these guys get recognition for doing things right but in this instance they deserve it.

Oh wait, I think I got it. Crede didn't have to be tagged to be out, did he? All he had to do to be safe was get to the base before the ball, right?

Haha, Ozzie you moron, Konerko is the only player on your team that can hit, and you try and steal with Dye to get him into scoring position. Let him hit a double instead of trying to be hands on.

Or Konerko could K, making everything else futile. I like that best.
