Now that the bye week is just about over and fights have broken out in practice, I'm interested to see if a relatively new secondary can take the NU defense from painfully bad to just craptacular. Not that we'll win, but the mid 50s temperatures should make for some good football weather in Evanston this Saturday morning.

Don't underestimate the crappiness of our defense. We let Young convert a 3rd and 30 on a scramble last week, and he stiff armed one of our DB's straight to the ground. Hopefully Smith can go nuts and not turn the ball over a million times.

 

Please beat Texas. Like last year would be nice.

I love the Gameday choice of OSU at Penn St. Penn State has really come on and this game is going to be a classic.

 

Purdue needs to bounce back quickly against Iowa. If not, say hello to the Sun Bowl for the 4th time in 5 years :cry: . I don't think we are going to win.

I'd say he's only better because his coach gets him involved more. From an overall talent standpoint, I can't see how you could say Williams is better, given that Ginn could play as a shutdown DB as well. If he decides to pursue a DB spot in the NFL, I believe he'd succeed incredibly well. He's got great DB size and tremendous athleticism.

The local forecast continues to look more bleak... since we don't have a tarp or awning, we may have to move the tailgate back to my friend's place. It would be awesome to tailgate outside all day, but standing in the rain for 7 hours doesn't sound like much of a good time.

Tailgating in the rain is great. I have done it a few times. Just dress warm and drink a lot. You won't even notice the rain :D
