Senior starting WR Junior Taylor, UCLA's top WR, is out for the season with a torn ACL (hurt it making a catch on the second play of the OU game). :(

UCLA ranked for the first time since 2003 (Bob Toledo's last year). 25 in the AP, 23 in USA Today. :D

Oh, and 5 teams from the Pac-10 in the top 25...USC, Cal, Arizona State, Oregon, UCLA.

Congratulations Raisin on the OK win and the 5 teams in the top 25.

Michigan St beats ND at ND and is still 4 spots behind in the coaches poll. It's all about the reputation and misguided perception with these things. ND may very well be a better team and finish with a better record than Michigan St but to the point is what was accomplished on the field to the point of the poll and that was a Michigan St victory at ND. It amazes me that these clowns are the ones who vote who goes to the championship game.

CPatterson ND was 20 when they beat UM, they were 36 when they beat Pitt.

Michigan is also ahead of ND. I agree that MSU should be ahead of ND, but I also think UM should be behind ND and MSU. This is a perfect example of why preseason polls are a joke.

When ND beat UM, they had just beat the #3 team in the nation. Regardless of what anyone thinks of UM being over rated, the fact is they were #3. A jump from #20 to 10, after just beating the #3 team is not unreasonable. However to move MSU (or any team) up to the top 15 after being unrated will never happen.

Remember in '93 when FSU won the NC due to dumb logic with the voting?

The polls almost always work out in the end, but the only real solution IMO is a playoff!

PS. I would have quoted the whole converstation but I can never get it right when I try to, so I just had to do the last part. Sorry

UK has looked awful vs. a bad team.

Worst coaching staff in the nation, UK fans will use the injury excuse as well as the sanctions instead of lack of preparation and fundamentals.

Brooks will be back next year.

Am I talking about Brooks or Baker? :x

Change to IU fans and welcome to the basketball season.

I wonder if Hep can coach b-ball?

I don't think IU is a bad team, maybe below average but are well-coached (can't believe that is being said about IU football). So I guess all I can say...

get used to the defeat.

IU will get a wakeup call in the Big 10... I witnessed nothing against UK that deserved praise beyond a team destined to go 4-7 or 5-6 if they pull an upset.

I have confidence in UK, just not this year or with the current coaching staff.

Philmore is back with the team and if Thiry's shoulder is okay, I won't be as depressed going into the PSU game.

Basanez had a good quote yesterday: "We need to score. Gosh, it's just so disheartening." Not as good as Joe Tiller, though: "We still play sissy ball at Purdue."

I agree that it should be:

MSU > ND > Michigan

Michigan State was clearly the better team Saturday, though I was impressed with ND. I'm so used to watching them roll over when they're down three scores, that it was exciting watching them fight back.

I agree. I actually posted on here when MSU went up 21 that it was over. I could not believe they got back in it. Though ND lost, I was still happy with the game. They showed alot of heart and character that they have lacked for so long. MSU just dominated them, and IMO it was not nearly as close as the score shows. I don't think winning 8 games this year is unreasonable. They should be able to beat either Purdue or Tennesee, and the rest of the schedule favors them (besides USC). Regardless of how the rest of the season goes 2-1 and this point is great.
