The Cards already clinched the division, they clinched a tie but they own the tiebreaker. If the Astros match St. Louis' current win total they are guaranteed the wild card. Maybe the Cards will be hungover for this one.

Why would they be hungover if they didnt even celebrate?

Well, we'll see how Edmonds is running the bases today and that should gauge the amount of partying that went on

The bigger question is when or how Dusty will replace Murton with Macias? His first opportunity at a double switch despite the fact that the 8th spot made the last out and Murton' may be hitting sixth? What is it with getting Perez and or Macias in every game? Do they have some kind of appearance incentives within their contracts? Edited by gflore34

No. St. Louis Chicago Cubs

1 David Eckstein, SS Jerry Hairston Jr., LF

2 Jim Edmonds, CF Neifi Perez, SS

3 Albert Pujols, 1B Derrek Lee, 1B

4 Reggie Sanders, LF Jeromy Burnitz, RF

5 Mark Grudzielanek, 2B Nomar Garciaparra, 3B

6 So Taguchi, RF Todd Walker, 2B

7 Yadier Molina, C Corey Patterson, CF

8 Hector Luna, 3B Henry Blanco, C

9 Matt Morris, P Glendon Rusch, P

Murton's 0 for his last 8, not in the lineup today.

I HATE Walker batting 6th. I don't have the numbers, but I feel like he is a better hitter when not put in an RBI slot in the order.

.323/.371/.448 in the 6 hole.

I wonder what the average age of our lineup is.. .Its mid september, we are out of the Playoffs, and yet, not one rookie or 2nd player in there..

I also like how Dusty hated playing Hairston earlier in the year, but now he can't get enough of Jerry (I don't mind Jerry, I just find it odd that now that his veteran LFs are gone he gets Jerry out there over a kid who is a LF)

Forget it...why do I even bother.

I apparently agree. i can't even remember to start the thread. And that's after Serena sent me a PM reminder.
